Игра "Soulscape" – это необычное и захватывающее путешествие в глубины человеческой психики. Визуальный стиль, выполненный в приглушенных тонах и сновидческой атмосфере, создает эффект погружения в мир подсознания. Сюжет заставляет задуматься о сложных вопросах самоидентификации, травмах прошлого и поиске исцеления. Геймплей сочетает в себе элементы визуальной новеллы и психологического хоррора, предлагая игроку принимать непростые решения, влияющие на развитие истории и судьбу главного героя. Персонажи проработаны детально, каждый из них со своими мотивами и секретами. Несмотря на некоторую медлительность повествования и, возможно, не всем понятную символику, "Soulscape" оставляет после себя глубокое впечатление. Это игра не для развлечения в чистом виде, а для переживания, размышления и, возможно, даже переосмысления собственных ценностей. "Soulscape" is one of hundreds of low effort retro-pixel RPG Maker construction kit flips spamming the Steam catalog, made with the RPG Maker video game construction kit... in their own words, "Our easy to use tools are simple enough for a child." Like all RPG Maker "games", this is essentially a bunch of low quality/canned assets from RPG Maker. However, while RPG Maker games are usually asset flips of the stock Kadokawa assets, the developer here made their own, and while they look less like pixelcrap, they don't look much better. Imagine giving a Wacom tablet to an 8 year old, and there it is. The game also eschews the usual high school anime club dropout fanfiction for an artsy (but not great looking) adventure/RPG story about a blob in a wheelchair, but whatever steps the developer took to move away from the default fan-fiction about the developers girlfriend won't take it away from the disaster that is RPG Maker. As with all RPG Maker games, the poor quality engine displays badly in fullscreen and doesn't have full HD support or any graphics tweaking options, making this unacceptable for any dedicated modern PC gamer. [h2]A great game despite it's shortcomings[/h2] I originally played Mothlight, many many years ago, and more recently (albeit some months ago) played Orogenesis, and I realised "oh, there's another one called Soulscape? Why haven't I played this?" And I played it, and just like the others, I loved it, I'll admit though, I don't think it's quite on the level as the other 2, it has some issues, but I still really enjoyed this, I don't know that I'd recommend this as your first exposure to Samu's games, maybe, maybe not, I could kind of go either way depending on the person, but I've loved all of Samu's games I've played so far, and I think you should give them all a go, and 2/3 of them are free so what have you really got to lose? If it's not for you, well don't buy the last one, but if you give them a try and want more, consider buying Orogenesis.
