Soulslayer～灭魂·误佳期～

Amazing short mystery VN! I really like time loop stories and while this one is somewhat repetitive and pursuing specific endings tends to be difficult, I found myself highly entertained regardless. The ancient setting is interesting and immersive; the lovely art and wonderful music definitely add to its unique vibe, plus greatly maintain the suspenseful and partially emotional atmosphere. The plot is quite captivating and I like how it handles the mystery with every character being incredibly suspicious yet still well written. The supernatural elements are very intriguing too. I would've certainly loved the game to be longer in order to find out more about the lore and characters! Now I don't know whether this series will actually continue eventually, however even as a stand-alone story I can confidently recommend it!

[h1]Chinese drama roguelike detective VN where you're courting death[/h1] Ahead of its time n rather unique in the VN genre seeing how rare roguelike VNs are. Probably the only other neat roguelike VN I know of aside from this one is Slay the Princess. And just like Slay the Princess, Soulslayer is one of the VNs I'd recommend to even those who are not into VNs because, Soulslayer is full of intrigue, interesting characters as well as a relatable MC n most importantly, lots of drama n juicy gossip. It has got to be something with the VNs having Slay in their name that they end up being so slay, yea? This one is very repeatable with lots of endings and routes. Minor spoilers: You're probably going to die more than you do in Elden Ring in this one at least by Visual Novel standards but dying is part of the fun n the experience n also part of what makes this a unique gem in the rough. The art is distinct n spectacular. It brings the characters to life alongside the sweet Chinese va. Strong recommend from me specially if you like ancient Chinese media n drama. My only wish is if it was longer like Slay the Princess but its quite enjoyable as is with a fair share of hilarious …

It is the first visual novel that I want to follow all the routes! Thank you, it was a pleasure to play it.^^

An awesome game with a lot of branching. It took me a while to solve the case, and I enjoyed every single bad endings. The voice acting really makes the game more immersive. The art style, though simple, is very artistic. I wish there was some more romance in the story, but hey, it's more about the mystery and I'm okay with that. Highly recommends for Chinese culture lovers.

Short and sweet. Nice story. Clunky translation but that's to be expected. Some routes were a bit of a pain but easy to look up. Recommend

another entry in the time loop detective game genre. I did find myself just using trial and error/guides because of the pacing, as being a time loop game you will necessarily 'bactrack' through scenes you've already seen, and the dialog. the translation seems accurate but sometimes wooden, and sometimes it repeats itself in the way LNs and CNs do. however the setting is unique, the art is good, and everything works as it should. the asking price is a little high but i think it would be a good buy at a decent sale
