Soundelta

Soundelta is a pretty neat lil game. It takes quite a bit of time to get used to and can feel a little bit clunky at times but overall i think this is a pretty cool little arcade kinda RG, isnt too complicated and is a pretty fun pickup if you want to try a new RG for a bit.

Game lacks a visual offset and the audio offset calibration seems pretty off, the visual areas to hit aren't clear and changing the settings for it doesn't appear to do anything. the premise is cool but it doesn't feel great to play at the moment

my pc is by no means good, probably worse than a cardboard box, which is why i love rhythm games, i can consistently get 60-120 fps on most rhythm games, but this game is not one of them. almost 0 graphics settings, (which i have never seen before on a rhythm game), which forces me to play on 2 fps, the only graphic settings they have are view distance, and vfx on or off, thats it. not even a resolution slider, and if there is one, its not in the graphic setting tab. while i doubt this is an issue for the average pc, barely having ANY graphics settings should be a crime,

soundelta voltex nabla

"Soundelta" is a rhythm QTE game, basically a Guitar Hero ripoff with all the cool songs, band themes, funky controllers removed... heck, they even took out the graphics, leaving us with minimalist dribble, soundtrack so bad you may shove apencil in your ear to try make it stop, and an awful "spinning" triangle thing instead of normal rhythm controls... needless to say this was a complete and utter failure on Steam Direct. It's deep in development hell and there's every likelihood this will never be completed. This unfinished game is just polluting Steam and making it harder for gamers to find genuinely, completely made games. The game is really simple and unambitious in terms of implementation, more of a tech demo or one of those cases where an amateur developer spends $100 to publish something on Steam Direct to see if it's possible. Yes, obviously it's possible. A proof of concept, tech demo, or something that's less than a little blip on the radar isn't offering anything truly valuable to gamers. This game features very lacklustre minimalist "art" for graphics instead of anything remotely contemporary. I'm sure the "developer" thought this would come across as "artistic"…

The base gameplay is definitely fun but the whole thing needs lots of tweaking. Some suggestions to make this whole thing a little more polished: I'd suggest giving the notes colours (much like the left and right spinning notes) to make them more readable especially when spinning. This game desperately needs workshop support since having an easy to use tool to share and download custom songs would motivate people to make customs. The audio offset seems to need to be in the negative for proper calibration. I noticed another review pointing this out too so it isn't just me. For me personally it had to be around -40 whereas in other games I generally have it at 0. Finally the UI needs some work. The health, score, and other information is on the far edges of the screen while your eyes are naturally glued to the center, making it awkward and risky to check them during more fast paced gameplay. I genuinely hope to see this improve since I'm a big fan of rhythm games in general and it's always nice to see something a little different pop up.
