About Split Spirit

Immerse yourself in a vibrant world overflowing with color and charm as you traverse mountainous woodlands to rejoin with your other half. Seek the aid of the forest as flowers and deer pick you up and carry you along on your journey.
 • Beautiful natural environments
As you traverse the world, you’ll experience the likes of windy savannas, waterfall caves, primordial jungles, and more! Every environment comes with its own hand-crafted artwork, each as breathtaking as the last.
 • Relaxing, easy-to-pick-up gameplay
Trot, jump, and throw as you make your way through the forest. Whether you’re looking for a more casual experience or are new to games, Split Spirit offers gameplay where you can enjoy the world without having to worry about losing or complicated controls.
 • Simple physics-based throwing mechanics
Toss yourself from the deer and flowers that aid your journey. Aiming is assisted with a visible throw arc to help you make trickier shots and there is no penalty for missing - the flower or deer you last threw from will happily pick you back up again so you can try again!

Broken unoptimized mess. I have 3080Ti my sh1t can run 4k ray traced cyberpunk but barely runs this game over 25 fps. Also the damn projectile flame/spirit whatever thing constantly disappears or launch to the abyss. Do yourselves a favor and stay away at all costs.
Split Spirit
I think this is not bad for a student project, shame we had 2 levels and not 3 I was starting to enjoy it. There's a few things that need to be worked on, for example I was stuck in the first bouncy mushroom and I had to restart the game from the beginning. Changing direction feels awkward, I also had to jump more than I usually would maybe something like a straight surface would've been better, with some obstacles. I can't wait to see similar games from DigiPen!

Very mixed about this game. Split Spirit is a short game. You must get to the end by using plants and animals as vessels. I love the paper-style graphics, and the music is alright, but that's all the good things I can say. There are a lot of issues I noticed. It's easy to get stuck due to the rough camera positions and player controls. In certain places, it's hard to tell where you're supposed to go. Occasionally, you'll have to move forward blindly. And if you get softlocked, you'll have to restart from the beginning of the level. The game did have some performance issues, but that's about it.

The art style and music are serene and i really enjoyed the concept. However after trouble with one of the mushroom bouncy things giving me some trouble and then encountering a game breaking bug where the deer was too tall to jump back up on top of a platform without hitting another nearby (screenshot shared) I cannot. A re-spawn option would have solved this or even a crouch function. Its free and its a student game ill give you that and if you don't encounter the bug i did it should be fine.

The game is short and sweet, but the potential bug for the spirit to fly up into the air, through any obstructions and basically never come down if it bounces a second time just right, is very annoying when coupled with a lack of even a rudimentary save. But, again, the game is very short so you can just fly through again and finish it off.
