STACK & the Grumblepuff from Above

So my playtime is quite low - this game was on showcase at a local gaming convention and so I played it there for longer and just played a bit now so I could leave a review. The game is a cute little "dodge the objects" game, and you try to collect as many coins as you can before you die. I like the blending of old school arcade-style game (keep going until you die), with the game then giving you a new level which will slightly change the rules to make each level feel like a new challenge without ever deviating from the basic "move away from spiky balls while collecting coins". Weirdly enough I prefer the mouse controls to the keyboard because you can move in more directions, which becomes important as you're inundated with several grumblepuffs and have to thread the needle. I'm guessing that playing on a controller would have the same advantage though. The fact it's free also is huge in its favour.

"STACK & the Grumblepuff from Above" is a simple 2D action arcade game where you control a little stack of berries or whatever and move around collecting coins and avoiding stuff that falls from the sky. Simple, pointless, and unpopular on Steam. It's worth nothing there's a lot of bells and whistles on a game that's as amusing as a broken stick... different game mode variations and so on, but all this is wasted effort when the core game is basically nothing. The game features really lacklustre 2D visuals (does the developer not know 3D graphics became mainstream in the mid-1990s?). Gamers don't spend thousands of dollars on gaming rigs and the latest 3D graphics cards to play 2D games. Even mobile phones and game consoles can do 3D graphics now. There's no excuse. You're forced to sign a highly questionable yet legally unenforceable End User License Agreement... for such a relatively low effort, low quality product, this comes across more as a delusion of grandeur than anything else.
