For a developer's first published steam game I have to say that this is a seriously impressive little work of art. I think that the mechanics are very easy to grasp and would take someone less than 15 minutes to do so, so there is no doubt that the game isn't hard to learn. Really, the difficulty comes from mastering your tactics to get your party to lead the nation. The developer is clearly currently limited in funds and how much work he can put into this game, but if it garners enough support it has serious potential to be up there with games like Tropico and Suzerain. The developer clearly cares about his community and is pushing regular updates. Is the game enjoyable? Certainly. Is it a one-to-one political sim with absolute realism? No. But it's still enjoyable nonetheless and still one of the more realistic sims out there. Not to mention a nice pixelated graphic style. The game is so early in development and if it has more support it seriously can become incredible. I would highly recommend this and I seriously think it has something to it. Also it can work on literally any computer, even a potato.

Intriguing political simulator! Statecraft Corrupt Democracy is basically Paper Please meets Suzerain, set in a fictional Türkiye during the cold war. The game is rich in different scenarios where the player's goal is to win the last elections with the party of their choosing. It may be hard to grasp the mechanics, but after the first hurdle the game becomes fairly intuitive. The things that can be done within the game are many, from small day to day decisions to catastrophic outcomes. The project is a bit rough around the edges, but the concept is neat and might interest you!

This game is kind of a UX disaster. "Oh cool they added text resizing option. How nice of them" *now all text is running over the boxes* This really gives off the single dev vibes. One of these days, I'll muster up fortitude to reset my settings and actually play the game. I'll update the review based on gameplay then. On paper it sounds very promising, but the execution is a bit lackluster.

It is really good as a baseline corrupt politics simulator. My only suggestion would be to incorporate more of a gradual decline from a democracy into one party rule through ways other than violent revolution, and to provide more opportunity for successful violent revolutions to empower your party over others. This could be balanced depending on your overall power in the assembly to begin with. Heck, there could even be a scenario, where the state is increasingly declining into a dictatorship, and each party has a choice on whether or not to embrace authoritarianism in the hope that they will be the party to come out on top, or to resist it.
