This game wears it's inspirations on it's sleeve, and in this case I think it's a good thing. Lotta potential here. But right now the build be janky af.1 found this helpful
I liked this game and finished playing through it and I'm glad I did, cause there's some cool stuff to look at and find, like those plain foam looking cactuses. Game could've used some tinkering like having a settings menu so I could change the audio volume a bit without having to go to my OS audio settings, but for a first project that part was alright, but please no motion blur if you're not gonna include a settings menu. Those models in the first blueprint workshop were funny to find, just some random car model from the unreal workshop lol. Respawning at the ship was a good choice to think about, so I wouldn't have to keep walking back from spawn to the ship and eventually even getting stuck if my ship was out of my reach. If I didn't use my grappling hook a lot I wouldn't have known it could even break, but good thing it did, cause I would've kept using it if it didn't. The drill was a cool concept, but if you give me a lot of coal, there's not gonna be much of a reason to give me any more after that section of the game, I didn't really need to get more coal since I stocked up a whole chest from the mine at the start of the game. I participated in an organised playtest for Steamwrecked. I really wanted to like Steamwrecked, the game has many of the same elements as games I love, such as base-building, survival mechanics and exploration. The small startings of a story currently in the game show promise, but no substance. The gameplay and mechanics of the current state of the game feel largely unfinished, the building mechanics feel janky and odd, the flight controls of the airship are slow, frustrating and floaty, the lightning rod mechanic is very poorly telegraphed and all sounds and visuals are the same between it working and not working. Settings are entirely absent, the game performs perfectly fine on my machine (Ryzen 7 5700X, RX 9060XT 16gb, 32GB DDR4) so the lack of graphics settings did not hurt my experience, however the lack of camera sensitivity meant nudging my mouse (Logitech G502 Lightspeed set to a high DPI) a mere centimetre sent my character spinning multiple times until I resorted to external software to trick the game into thinking the DPI was lower. Overall, in it's current state, I cannot recommend this game. This feels like it's somewhere between Tech Demo and Pre-Alpha. This nee…1 found this helpful
Not bad. Can't complain about a free game, really. Very short, so now I know why there is no save option. Thirst and hunger rip too fast. Found it easier to empty my items and just die, rather than to keep trying to eat and drink. There wouldn't be enough in the game to do otherwise, anyway.
don't waste your storage on this game it is horrible and mechanics are hard to play with not a very good game.
Tried it, sadly did not work for me. Tried different variations of proton. It would open and give me the menu but as soon as I press play all I get is a black screen,
