About Steel Saviour Reloaded
Many years after a global war humanity is close to extinction because of lack of water. You’re the young pilot who finds a flying war ship and travels into inner earth to discovers machine creatures who are responsible for humanity's suffering. Take control of the flying ship and fight the machines to save the world.
Avoid enemies and walls and use different weapons to destroy the big bosses. A combo system will lead you to beat the ranking. Interact with different environments with water and fire, adopting different strategies from time to time.

Cheap re-release of a 2004 game. The only thing optimized 1080p here is the text overlays. Everything else is just resized graphics and videos. While the artifacts in the videos are bareable the graphics are not. Everything is blurry and washed out. The game wasn't great back then but for it's time and given the PC did not really have a vast catalog of SHMUPS it was alright: Here a test from back then: https://www.4players.de/4players.php/dispbericht/PC-CDROM/Test/4226/2764/0/Steel_Saviour.html But 18 years later just rescaling some graphics for a higher resolution does not cut it anymore. Not to mention that 4 levels are not really much. The only thing that gets you playtime is the rather high difficulty level of the game overall. Sure just 6 bucks, but unless you are absolutely on SHMUP deprevation save the money. This is not reloaded, this is half-baked. BTW: That the game ought to be the sequel to T-Zero is either a last straw promotion lie or was a well kept secret when the game was originally released...9 found this helpful
A re-release of a 18 year old horizontal (euro)shmup with modern resolutions support. The graphics may show their age on a big screen, but the game is very well made and balanced. Straight forward gameplay and score mechanics; you just shoot stuff quickly to gain multiplier, making use of your blaster and your secondary weapons, while dodging enemy fire. Bombs can also help you a lot, when in a tight spot. If you feel brave enough, you can also go hunting for treasure items in dangerous areas, across the 4 chapters of the game. Mediocre horizontal shoot 'em up that kinda looked cool in it's heyday, resembling [i]Einhander[/i] in some ways and the 4th stage of SNES classic [i]Axelay[/i] in terms of stage and enemy design. This release adds a few basic QoL things as well as 16:9 support, and also, somehow, manages to be published by [i]Commodore[/i]? It's far from the worst shmup I've played, but then again it's about equally far from the best. Worth the money, I'd say.
