Stormblades Remastered

Move your mouse around to swing your sword and press space to dodge. That is litterally all of it, so this seems to be a just ported mobile game. And not a good one. Don't bother.

It's not a good game. It's a waste of money. Look, Infinity Blade basically single-handedly established a new genre of games, and I'm as eager as anyone to see a new entry in this space - but Stormblades is amateurish and underbaked. The worst offense is the fact that mouse movement is not constrainted to the game window - so any time you move the mouse outside the bounds of the game and click, your controls become disconnected from the game - and this is a game where you click and drag to slash your sword. I just don't get how it was even possible for the game to be released in this state, let alone continue to be sold - did they just assume that every single player would always play in fullscreen mode on a single monitor, and nobody would even play in windowed mode, or in fullscreen mode on a multi-monitor setup? It's unforgiveable and it's a shame. Do better next time, guys.

Stormblades is a mobile app that's been dumped on Steam as if it was a real PC game (it's not)... it's a cash grab from greedy mobile devs. The game is an ultra simple QTE game where you swipe your iPhone screen at each prompt to make the 3D rendered sword guy slash or dodge. Like Dance Dance Revolution but without any decent music or depth... it really is garbage. The mobile port here is so lazy the developer didn't even bother changing any of the mobile app prompts so you get "tap" and "swipe" prompts. Ugh. Mobile phones have made gaming worse for everyone. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers. Because this is a mobile app, it carries a number of deliberate design deficiencies. Compromises were made to cater to the iPhones that the game was designed for, in this case, somewhat low poly count game assets (that look ok I guess but not great), low res textures and very shallow gameplay.
