Strange Investigations: Becoming Collector's Edition

This game was weird. I've played many different mystery games like this, but the puzzles were glitchy, some didn't make sense that became confusing that I had to skip. How did the sister die? the sister was alive when she found her, and why cut it off like that to change the story at the very beginning.

Story OK, somewhat confusing as I hadn't realised at first that her sister died. The busy quivering bee in the bottom corner was so annoying I had to cover it with some card. Most puzzles fine, some glitchy and very often my mouse couldn't place things down. The current price of these games - over £16 - is outrageous for a short standard hog, buy on sale.

Very good, actually has adult themes that the overwhelming majority of HOGs don't touch. It was fun, even if it if had a lot of the usual HOG nonsense with random objects being in weird places. I liked that the maps actually show where there's still collectibles etc to find. However, it did crash to desktop after the main game when I clicked the bonus content button. Surprisingly, post game there are puzzles etc to still do in the bonus content and you are even given the opportunity to look for puzzle pieces etc you missed. A very solid HOG, recommended.

A very good HOG with an interesting story line. I thought there was a good balance between story telling/narrative and game play. Bonus chapter glitched out at one point (kicked me out of the game as I was finishing up a short puzzle). I was able to relaunch the game and start from the beginning of the segment. And thank you for allowing players to go back to get missed collectibles (e.g., puzzle pieces) without having to replay the entire game.
