About Sunset Overdrive
Sunset Overdrive is an open-world shooter where you parkour across a vibrant post-apocalyptic city infected with toxic mutants, using gravity-defying wall-runs and rail-grinds to unleash wild, unconventional weapons from every angle. It breaks the mold of traditional shooters with hyper-colorful style, irreverent humor, and chaotic combat that rewards creative, acrobatic destruction.
Embrace the chaos of Sunset City through a hyper-colorful, post-apocalyptic single-player campaign and two bonus expansions, Mystery of Mooil Rig and Dawn of the Rise of the Fallen Machines. Outgun crazed mutants, homicidal robots, and villainous thugs on your journeys with the included Weapons Pack.
Features:
- An Open World with No Rules - Leap off buildings, run along walls, and grind power lines and rails to destroy your foes from every angle.
- Over-the-top Weapons - Collect and upgrade an arsenal of unconventional weapons that use items like dynamite, fireworks, harpoons, and acid to destroy your enemies.

insomniac magnum opus1 found this helpful
This is one of the most fun experiences I've had in a while. Extremely fun world traversal, third-person shooter action, and an attitude that reminds me of one of my favorite games Saints Row 3. This game's port is pretty good - no reliance on the multiplayer servers that were only available on xbox, but that also means it's harder to get guns. You'll want to look up a few guides on guns because you barely earn enough soda cans to afford one major gun purchase through the entire game if you make some poor purchasing decisions. Otherwise you're stuck grinding extremely difficult gold stars on the challenges.
very good very nice
I see why people call this underrated. The story is nothing to write home about, but the game knows that, and the game reminds you of that. The constant 4th wall breaking keeps the player reminding that it is a game. The jokes don't always land, and characters can get a bit annoying. A bit too annoying. But the gameplay! Oh, the gameplay! This is truly the most gamey game I have ever played. The movement is the most fun part of the game. Fast traveling feels so unsatisfying because it is infinitely more fun to go from one end of the map to another by bouncing, gliding, dashing, and grinding. The variety in guns is another amazing part of the game. Usually when I start a game, I try to find a gun or two that work and stick to them. It was really different this time. Trying different guns felt a lot more rewarding than using the same gun for a long time. The chaos is what the game thrives on. It would be more meaningful to assume that having too many enemies will make it more difficult, but no. The more ODs you can have, the more chaos you can create, the more of them you can blast by jumping on cars, the better. I have so much more to write about the game. I probably will late…
it's a masterpiece
This game was a blast. Never lets up for a minute and even has some minigame scenarios here and there to spice things up. If you like fast-paced action games this one is a Can't Miss.
