About Super Bombinhas
Super Bombinhas is a colorful 2D platformer inspired by the old SNES classics. It features a story mode with 36 carefully designed levels to explore, each of them full of creatures, items and secrets. It also contains a level editor that lets you use every single element from the story mode to create your own adventures!
The Bomb Kingdom has been taken by the evil usurper Gaxlon and it's your mission to guide the Super Bombs to defeat him. However, only one of the Super Bombs escaped from Gaxlon's minions, so you'll need to rescue your friends before facing the powerful villain.
You start playing as Bomba Azul, and as the story progresses and you free the other Super Bombs, you can play as them too! Each of the bombs has unique abilities - and personalities as well.
You will travel across a great variety of scenarios, face tens of unique creatures and challenging bosses, all of that while enjoying an amazing, fully original soundtrack.
In the level editor you will be able to create as many levels as you want, using all the features from the story mode - spoiler alert!

Cute little platformer for retro fans. Love that it was built with Ruby and inspiring to see so much done by one person. Bravo!2 found this helpful

EDIT: Since posting this review, the dev has added the ability to turn off the lives system. I will try to make it to the end, and update this review if I do. I'll give this one a cautious recommendation. It's a lot of content for one dollar, between a lengthy story and the level editor. However, I gave up after the third boss because the game contains a lives system. In other words, when you run out of them you go back to the start of the level. With some level sections requiring a good few tries to get past, this gets annoying quickly and there's no reason to have this. Also the jump mechanics are very frustrating. It's designed so you get more height when you're running, the problem is a lot of platforms are very small that you have to do this running jump on, so a bunch of jumps take multiple tries, which compounded with the outdated lives system, makes for a very frustrating gaming experience. The third thing I found was lacking: sometimes you will need to use a consumable item to get through part of a level, and if you consume that item the wrong way, you will be softlocked and have to restart the level. This should never happen. Onto the good though: the game plays out l…1 found this helpful
Game has this "Adventure Island" vibes, with the islands map and the overall graphics and chill environment, which brought me back to those NES days. A few suggestions that would improve the experience: - It's not very clear when the character will have the "Jump" improvement. In Mario games, running allows you to jump higher. Here, the areas to run are super short and it's very difficult to know when you'll be jumping higher, so it feels more like a guess game. Perhaps adding a little visual feedback or effect would help. - The "Jump" sprite is currently static. Adding a little animation would help with the feeling of movement. - I haven't played that far yet, but I'm curious about the purpose for collecting the fireballs. Is it like the coins in Mario to get lives? I'm playing casual. I think the purpose should be more clear (and if in Casual mode they don't have a purpose, I'd try to find one). - The fireball collection SFX kind of blends into the music. I'd go for something that stands out a bit more, even if it doesn't exactly sound like a fireball. - The "Shield/Armor" appears only as an icon next to the bomb character, but it'd be nicer if it surrounded it, similar t…

One of the most hilarious and funniest games I've ever played. And I really love to play. Many levels and different obstacles. Cool animations, easy control. There is its own map editor in which you can sit for hours on end. I recommend purchasing the game for your collection!
