Super Gorilla Quest 2: A Space Chimpanzee

If you finished Super Gorilla Quest and were sad there were no more gorilla-centric RPGs to play, then have no fear, Super Gorilla Quest 2: A Space Chimpanzee is here! This game is an improvement on SGQ1 in every way. The combat is a lot of fun with a bunch of different combinations of skills you can put on every ape through trinkets, the humor had me laughing at several points throughout, and it's a fair bit larger than the first game too! A masterfully crafted sequel to the original Super Gorilla Quest. The ms-paint artstyle and variability in npc interactions give the game a really cool personality that is unmatched by most modern RPGs, especially for this cheap a price. If you want a comedic and strategy-focused RPG experience, buy this game

Alright so here's the proper review now that I have finished the game, this sequel is quite good- might actually blow the original out of the water in seer scope! (Which makes sense as it is longer than it-) A lot of the dialog had me cackling with laughter, this and the first game are seriously funny- the MS paint art style definitly add too that, and seriously works in the games favor in that regard. (The characters are also generally quite indeering, Shareholder and Vivian being two characters I found being some of my favorites) Some of the music is royality free- but the fully original tracks are seriously good- The Shareholder's Battle theme is a good example of that. The battle system, while extremely basic, is quite a lot of fun, and I am quite keen on the trinket system- although I kinda just stuck with the trinkets I had once I found an OP build- If I had one issue with the game though- I feel a lot of the chapters are really short, while others go on for longer, making it quite inconsistent in progression within the story. In this follow-up to what was widely acknowledged as the best ape-centric RPG of the 2020s (Super Gorilla Quest), Wither Games takes everything up a notch or six! While maintaining everything that made SGQ such a fun game (humor. well balanced battles, fun secrets to find, monke), he's added in even more complex game play (with more items and strategy), a much bigger set of worlds to explore, and even more hilarity. The sheer number of sly references to mainstream obscure music and novels makes you pay close attention to all the dialogue and signs to ensure you're taking it all in, while the exploration and fights keep you planning ahead and really using your brain. Highly recommended to fans of the original, but there is also a really great recap of the story so far if you just want to hop in! 10/10 stars!

This is a great continuation to the first game, it really plays as a part 2, with twists you don’t usually see in rpgs such as starting with a full party, and having a nice amount of exploration available. The comedy is really good, and the combat has some nice sense of progression. I don’t trading my golden bananas for a joke!
