A bit old, but honestly it wasn't that bad and had it's good moments. Give it a shot if it goes on sale.

Surfasaurus is a bad, dinosaur themed ripoff of Stardew Valley. Stardew Valley from Wish, if you like. Looks like a JRPG, it's more of a VN with grinding as you do jobs and minigames for people on the island. Sound familiar? Yeah, so along with a crap technical delivery, the game concept is intellectually bankrupt plagiarism, too. Oh, but the main character is a dinosaur, that will keep the lawyers away. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. A choice was made to use obsolete, decades old retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. The game only displays in 4:3 pillarboxed aspect ratio. Truly one of the hidden gems of Steam. For those interested, this isn't a game that you complete in a sitting or two -- you're meant to revisit it daily for a few minutes at a time. The activities and events around town are all based on the real-world date and time, so you need to work the game into your IRL schedule to get the most of it (I haven't attempted to adjust my system time to cheat, but that may be a not-recommended option). I was a bit annoyed by that fact when I first started to play, but it's become a welcome routine to jump into this world whenever I have time for a quick visit. I've really come to love running around the tiny island and chatting with the quirky townspeople (many of the things they say have prompted laughs and screenshots), collecting bananas/shells/trash, doing my daily workouts, watching bands play at the diner, buying and trading collectible cards, helping a scientist err.. do something by jumping into his computer and traversing various levels in the virtual world, completing slide puzzles, and participating in trivia night (which I keep missing because I haven't had a chance to play while it's active).
