About Synchronicity
As a small Indie multiplayer game, matchmaking with a small player-base is always a challenge. That is why Synchronicity implements "Cloud Turns". When playing matchmaking games, do not expect to play them in one go, but rather over the course of a couple of days. You will get notified whenever there is a new turn for you; as will be your opponent. That is not to say that there won't be the occasional match that is played live, but it probably will be the exception. For playing live games, I encourage you to invite your friends or join the discord and find people to play with that way.Synchronicity is a tactical turn based game. Maneuver your Units to outsmart your opponent and use their special abilities to the greatest effect. The game is split into two phases, planning and execution:Each round you can plan up to 3 actions for each of your 3 Units. Have them move across the map, Shoot along a certain path, overwatch a specific area or use one of their special abilities.Once both sides have submitted their plans for the round they get executed at the same time. Then you'll find out how well you anticipated your opponents moves of it its all falling apart. Any online game you start, both Matchmaking games or custom private matches, can be played synchronously as well as asynchronously:
- Synchronous gameplay is what you expect. Both players are online at the same time. Whenever both sides have submitted their turn you get to see the result can plan your next moves.
- Asynchronous gameplay means that your opponent does not need to be online for you to play. Any plans you submit are saved in the cloud. If your opponent has already submitted their turn you get to see the result and can submit your next turn to the cloud.
- Notifications are send whenever it is your time to make the next move. You can register for either notifications through Steam or Discord.
- Synchronous turns: Plan 3 steps in advance while your opponent does the same.
- Asymmetrical multiplayer: Opportunistic hackers vs righteous megacorp? Idealist revolutionaries vs malevolent corporate overlord? Pick your side!
- Destructible and penetrable environments: Predict enemy positions and just shoot through the wall! Need a different angle? Breach some walls!
- Instant Replay: Missed something? Look at what happened in the last round again. Any detail can give you an edge!
- Practice Puzzles: Get to know the special abilities and mechanics with fun little Puzzle levels!
- Practice AI: Want to get used to the game without pressure? Try practicing against the AI!
- Cloud Games: Turn any game into an asynchronous cloud game. Don't have time to finish the game in one go? Come back later, the game will be waiting for you.

The game is for all those who waited for a drop-in / drop-out tactical riddle with focus on PvP. Its quick, its easy to learn but there are so many possible tactical approaches. And best of all: Its turn based and played whenever you desire. Take a dive, try it out :-)3 found this helpful
I'm currently doing a challenge to play through a free game in every single category on steam. I then give an honest review using ChatGPT.
Game: 38 / 447 Category: Grad-Based Movement "Clunky, Slow, and Intrusive" This game tries to mix Rainbow 6 Siege-style tactics with a turn-based grid system, but it falls flat in almost every way. The biggest issue is the asynchronous gameplay. You make your move, and then you’re stuck waiting for your opponent, which could take hours or even days. It completely destroys any sense of momentum or engagement. On top of that, the game forces you to rely on external notifications through Discord or Steam to even know when it’s your turn. It feels intrusive, like the game is more interested in gathering your data than actually providing a smooth experience. Why isn’t there a built-in system for this? The gameplay itself is awkward. Movement feels clunky, and the tactical options don’t feel rewarding or intuitive. It’s as if the developers wanted to create something strategic but didn’t bother making it fun. The characters don’t help either—unappealing designs and a lack of personality make it hard to care about building a t…2 found this helpful

Not bad, has the basic elements you'd expect from this type of game. Kinda feels a bit like a lite version of Frozen Synapse but with characters that have special abilities and kits specific to a type of role.1 found this helpful
Note: Dead PvP game This game contains no meaningful single player content. There are no available servers and no player population. This game cannot be played as intended.
This is a turn based (synchronous or asynchronous) tactical strategy game with no plot or content as you just face off against the zero players who play this. You can botmatch against AI, but this is as dry as watching already dry paint dry. For some reason the theme is cyberpunk gnomes(? I think they are gnomes, or just really bad assets?). This theme did not help the game propel to "viral" status. There were some welcome features like a "cloud" based play-by-mail kind of setup, and while this can work for Chess or even Civilization, those games had something to offer people. So, "Synchronicity" is a dead PvP game. Why did it fail? It's video game autopsy time! Almost every PvP exclusive game on Steam fails. Only a tiny proportion of them "go viral". This game failed for many of the same reasons those others fail. The chief of which is the developer thinking that their game will "go viral" without actually creating any reason for it do so. Competition amongst PvP cent…
6.5/10 TBS with simultaneous turns in close quarters TLDR: Frozen Synapse / Lazer Squad Nemesis-like TBS with much smaller, maze-like maps, overwatch, grenades and wall breaking. The main downsides are strange character models and lack of a 1-player campaign Good: + free + it's certainly a game in Lazer Squad Nemesis tradition, with focus on multiplayer like in Frozen Synapse. You give orders for 3 actions ahead for all your team members, the opponent does the same, and then these orders are resolved according to intricate rules + graphics in general look pretty good + the 2 onboarding levels do a fairly good job introducing the game's rules + nice UI design, with short videos explaining the mechanics So-so: +/- music fits the setting (sci-fi/cyberpunk) though I personally didn't like it much +/- simultanenous turns are not everyone's cup of tea. On one hand, the idea of trying to "predict" enemy actions sounds like something smart and advanced. On the other hand, in reality, it often turns into random outcomes and rules too convoluted to enjoy. I guess the devs looked at the popularity of Frozen Synapse back in the 2010s (or was it late 2000s?) and assumed that a more "midcore"…
