Yeah, this game is pretty broke. I guess the visuals are fine as far as Unity asset flips go but the guns all feel pretty worthless and enemies are as basic as it gets with horrible AI, and oh yeah, I went to go through the open door to the next room and actually fell out of the map... For me, this one is a no-go.

"Synthetic Hazard" is a student project that has been published on Steam Direct. It's from ESAT. Student projects might look better than amateur shovelware, but they aren't real professional products. This is just a glorified homework assignment. It lacks the depth and value you get from professionally developed software because it was made for a grade, not for users. Schools shouldn't be using Steam to show off student projects. It might be fine for the school's marketing, but it clutters the Steam store with pollution... we have to sort past all these short student tech demos just so we can find real, full software from professional students. This is a case of a tech college putting its own interests before the interests of the audience. The students made a sci-fi FPS where you kill a bunch of robots and plague aliens. Unfortunately, they went down the "procgen IS content" path so the experience is just endless repetitive samey levels, and of course they also stopped working on it once they got their grades and walked away. Безумный экшен, огромные толпы врагов, реки крови и пули, летящие со всех сторон – вот что вас здесь ждет. Сюжет, хоть и не блещет оригинальностью, вполне справляется с задачей мотивировать к истреблению орд синтетических монстров. Арсенал оружия радует разнообразием и мощью, каждое оружие ощущается по-своему и позволяет эффективно справляться с разными типами врагов. Однако, игра не лишена недостатков. Отсутствие внятного обучения может оттолкнуть новичков, а чрезмерная сложность на высоких уровнях может показаться несправедливой. Графика, хоть и стилизована под ретро, местами выглядит устаревшей. В целом, Synthetic Hazard – это отличный выбор для тех, кто соскучился по динамичным шутерам с бесконечным экшеном и не боится трудностей. Если вы ищете глубокий сюжет или инновационный геймплей, то эта игра, возможно, не для вас. Но если вам нужно просто выпустить пар и уничтожить сотни врагов, то Synthetic Hazard – отличный вариант.
