"System Invaders" is an unabashed, lazy ripoff of Galaga (Copyright Namco, 1981). Many lazy "amateur" developers don't pay attention to their obligations under copyright law, and often steal the ideas of actual, real game developers without credit, such as the "developer" here has done. Of course you may be confused because the art style was stolen from Atari's Space Invaders... there's a lot of creative bankruptcy here. The gameplay is essentially a terrible ripoff of Galaga's streaming enemies... a few power ups/weapon types and a multiplayer that never got used round out the "creative" additions to this ripoff of other people's stuff... which of course was done for profit. So that's both intellectually and morally bankrupt. Putting aside the unethical intellectual, creative and moral bankruptcy of stealing someone else's game concept, this is also breaking that unwritten law of stealing other people's game ideas... you should at least try to do better than the game you're ripping off. "System Invaders" is considerably worse than Galaga. This looks a lot like it was designed for consoles, but released on Steam instead by mistake. While this is on PC, it has all the hallmar…
