Tales Of Aravorn: An Elven Marriage

(Id like to start this by saying I don't close my steam games...) A successful continuing of Elenor/Saren's story it is, but a proper successor to Loren it is not. TOA uses Loren The Amazon Princess as a crutch—incorporating characters and locations from the original game without the things that made Loren so beloved. As someone who romances Loren everytime I play the original game, it is strange to not have her here, especially as she is the MC's best friend. The most beloved characters of Loren: Loren, Draco, Chambara, Dora, and Ramas are all gone, leaving us with what I considered the B characters of Myrth, Rei, and the wizard who seemed to be a very different art style that the other characters. The plot was fine, the enemies were meh and I found the fighting abilities of the characters (mainly Lydia) very frustrating. Elenor didn't have much consistency in her character as it didn't matter who you romanced, she flirted with all. Gruff was the only character I really connected with but they were a pretty non important character. Loren did something I think Winter Wolves struggles with, very well. This game is considered downgrade from loren the amazon princess in many way. Here what ruin my enjoyment the most. -Character portrayal looks inconsistent to each other. -Companions and story overall suffering from force woke agenda. -They/them ugly woke character, Come with woke agenda lesson in my face. -Woke agenda demon races (or every races) is not inherently evil. I hope upcoming game will tone down it woke agenda and focus more on good story. Deception and paranoid is my cup of tea, Hope for more in upcoming game.

Stand alone, this is a good game but the first one is definitely on a whole different level. Pros: The ideal, the story and characters are quite good, I really like Lydia' character, Nathir is okay. Combat is improved greatly, I like it. There are so many background and music is lovely Cons: The writing is mid, dialogue is not as smooth, thorough and charming like Loren the amazon princess; Romance writing is normal. Like, I know what the author want to convey but the way it shows is not heartfelt like the first one. Especially, comparing with the new one, Saren/ Elenor's character in The amazon princess Loren is so much better built and they look more adorable too. That's why I can replay again and again and still find new thing to enjoy, for example, when I try romance Saren with Loren is much different story from Elenor with Loren or the way everyone interact with Saren and Elenor is different and unique, like they really are two different people, not just choosing gender, that's why I love the first one so much. As someone who played the original Loren a few years ago, this a really good sequel! I've heard of how original there was going to be a Loren 2, but was scrapped due to how ambitious and large it was. So instead it's being split into 4 games with this one, Elven Marriage, being the first of them which is imo the best decision given how large Loren 2 would've been lol Story/Characters: While not as grand as the original Loren, it was still a really good story. Along with the main quest, there are small side quests that help expand the story of the main area the game takes place and like in Loren some of the quests and choices made in them can make both small and big impacts for the later story. Especially when comes to the "final choice" to make depending on certain relationships which i won't spoil, while not as dire as Loren TAP's ending, it does determine whether things go smoothly and badly with the people who are critical to the story. The main cast that travel with us are also really awesome with our old companions Myrth and Rei and new companions Nathir and Lydia.
