TaleSpire - Guest Edition

Just writing this as a DM having put hours into the base game. A seat costing 13 eur is not that expensive, especially when you can use that seat for any campaign or player who joins. When I compare the cost of renting a dedicated server for a campaign for other VTT-systems and the price of those systems this is not a lot. I can understand people are tight for money, but this game is literally only 21 eur... If there is going to be a price increase for the base game, slots or an added subscription fee, my opinion will change. But for a party of 5 having to dish out 63 eur (21 eur: Base Game, 42 eur: 4 Seat Pack) for a perpetual license without subscription fees sounds fair enough to me. Is there a cheaper or free way to play tabletop games, yes definitely, but saying this is overpriced I think is a bit of a stretch.

When this free edition was added I was very excited. I bought 5 Seats almost immediately and am using it to run a game for 3 friends who live hours away. We use Discord video chat which completes the setup perfectly. Highly recommend, the price is nothing compared to the fun we've had with this game. It's good, 18 dollars for a reusable seat you can send anyone, and reuse for any of your campaigns. People on here need some gainable employment. Value to cost wise, it's great. We use it for our campaign, works like a charm. Crazy thing is, after letting everyone play with the guest version, 3/4ths of the crew liked the program so much, they bought Talespire themselves. The quality and development are excellent. Ignore the clowns.

I bought TaleSpire as soon as it became available, and while I haven't spent hundreds of hours with it yet—mostly because I've been waiting for features like Fog of War and some additional quality-of-life improvements—I've enjoyed what I've seen so far. One thing I think a lot of people misunderstand is how the Guest Seats work. Yes, they're around $15 each while the game itself costs about $25, and I understand why that sounds expensive at first glance. Many players see the price and assume they're being asked to buy access to a GM tool, but that's not really how the system works.

$15 just so that I can let a player look at the map on their own screen is ridiculous. I'd pay maybe $2 max per person be so for real bouncyrock

Amazing platform. No one is doing what Bouncy Rock is doing in the VTT space. While X company releases yet another top down 2d grid, Talespire is blazing a new trail with 3d model modding, online community(Talestavern.com, etc...), 3rd party integration like their heroforge deal and other innovations. Don't trust the nay sayers, no program is without it's faults but this one is the best for VTT.
