Tammuz: Blood & Sand

As someone who loves puzzle games, Tammuz: Blood and Sand had my brain gears turning from start to finish. The puzzles aren’t obvious, but with some careful thought, they’re all completely solvable. The story is intriguing and kept me engaged the whole way through. What really caught me off guard was my favorite part of the game, and it’s not even a puzzle. It’s the inclusion of an ancient tabletop board game called Ur, nearly 5,000 years old. After a few rounds, I started to understand how to strategically outsmart Tammuz, and that was such a clever and fun touch. The controls and mechanics can feel a little fidgety at times, but if you’re patient, it’s easy enough to work through. Be sure to watch through the credits for a surprise. Stand in front of pedestal and solve puzzles for a 2D god. The puzzles range from pretty straight forward to I don't know what the mechanic is so I don't know how to solve it. I had to stop the last puzzle I was working on because I had to look down, even when the pedestal could be moved up and down, which with a VR headset on caused me to start getting sore in my neck from looking down. It is a fun experience to be in VR but it is also a curse. The controls could be a bit finicky at times but for the most part were fine. I recommend this if you love puzzles and want to be in VR.

Pretty fun. Tammuz is a mostly stationary puzzle game with a sort of tower of puzzles that has various segments to solve, while two gods talk to you about releasing their power and such. The puzzles are mostly just 2d sliding type puzzles which is fine but not a crazy use of VR either. I had two minor bugs but nothing major. I enjoyed it but I think it might not be for everyone.

Credits rolled on Tammuz: Blood & Sand. Nice looking static box puzzler. Not too challenging, except the invisible obvious. I was invested in the 2D NPC story/banter. Some grab and placement jank but muscle memory soon avoided it. Recommended for fans of chill VR puzzlers.

A very good puzzle game with Egyptian fibes (for me at least). All puzzles are connected with each other. Graphics are phenomenal.

Pretty fun game if you like classical puzzles.
