Tankorama successfully captures the arcade spirit of classic shoot-em-ups with charming retro aesthetics, humor, and addictive "one more run" gameplay that provides a relaxing break from daily stress. Players praise the well-balanced upgrade system, unique tank options, and how the game avoids overcomplicating itself, though some note the weapon fire rate could be faster and audio design could use improvement.
First of all, Tankorama was made by two of my friends with I love and respect so I might be a little biased. Anyway, Tankorama is cool. It reminds me of those old arcade machine games, some of which I still have and play on my RetroPie and Amiga 1200 like 1942 game, or even Space Invaders. Graphics are nice, sounds could be a bit better, but I like the humor. For example Tutlek in croatian means someone who's confused, even stupid. And you have General Tutlek in the game. I like the art because I like the artist, screw it, no reason to lie about that. We both worked together on games like Starpoint Gemini 2 and Starpoint Gemini Warlords so if you like the art, check those games too. :) As one of my friends said, this is one of those "one more and I'm off to bed" games which can become addictive pretty fast and keep you up for hours. Playing with mouse and keyboard is smooth, but controller needed some work and programmer listened and sorted out some things before release. Kudos for that. Anyway, this is not new Bioware game, but this is not Fallout 76 fail either. This is a fun little arcade game, pretty hard for old farts like me, but fun nevertheless. And for this price it of…6 found this helpful
You know what this game is? It's a positive switch to reset brain after a long day at work. Light, fun and opposite of hard worries you're bothered with each day. Nice thing is that game doesn't try to be more than it is, and that makes it relaxing experience. You only fight is against score board, meaning you're pushing yourself further and further. I'd prefer a bit faster weapons fire rate, but overall, this is cute game to pass the time. P.S. looks to be a nice fit for mobile devices too?4 found this helpful
Tankorama - Classic Old school feel Shoot'em up in a Hover Tank. What this game does for me is bring back memories of the older days of arcades and all the shoot'em up's there was. Tankorama has taken on many ideas from the games and put them together into one game. Currently you have 3 tanks with enough little differences to make them feel unique, along with upgrades available to you, By accruing points to buy the upgrade abilities. I have tried many variations of upgrade paths and all work well, I have yet to find an upgrade path that really outshines the other ways. Have done the boost damage asap, boost hull or shield first and so on and all feel about right (I am sure the Dev Team may tweak things as the game get more feedback from players). Story that your given at the start of each Tier is quite amusing and fills you in on why your bringing your tank to battle. Levels are your everyday shoot'em up style, though the artwork is really good and adds to the flavor of the game. Each Tier is different enough to give it a fresh appeal as you progress through the game and give you reason to experience them on each type of tank available. Overall I think the GO Dizajn Dev Team …3 found this helpful
