Welcome to a world where magic and technology go hand in hand. In Terra Alia, every nation has its own rules for using magic, as it is a common part of this world. To avoid conflicts, these nations have come together to oversee magic use in their lands.
The first rule they created is learning the local language before you can start developing your magical abilities.
Your adventure begins in your homeland, just after completing your studies at one of Terra Alia's most renowned magic academies. Professor Esperanto, your esteemed mentor, has invited you to continue studies abroad in her exclusive technomancy program. Upon your arrival, you’ve found that the professor has gone missing! What mischievous force could be behind her disappearance? To solve this riddle, you'll need to unlock your magical abilities, but you've got to learn the local language first.
Choose your target language, and expand your vocabulary while confronting mythical creatures, rogue androids, and many other challenges as you journey through the magical realm of Terra Alia!

Pretty fun language game. You can learn a few interesting words and phrases here and there. I was doin' some French and I was like :O Je ne parle pas français!
A very fun game and a great way to have an introduction to new languages . The only wish I have is that there was some way to increases the difficulty
Please make us an expansion? The game is very good, just add some quality of life overall improvements and keep expanding it, its a bit short. My ability to speak Spanish fluently in future depends on you. No pressure. Thank you for your attention in this regard
It's really solid and fun way to learn a language, and it has a decent variety of languages too. I chose Chinese. Yes, it's indie and could use some additional polish, but honestly, there's nothing else quite like Terra Alia on the market, even in 2026. I can confidently say that they've made the best gamified way of learning language!
I really, really wish Steam had a Mixed category for just this game. I almost always write a review only after completing the Main Quest - I don't think I'll ever finish Terra Alia. The game is beautiful, the story feels compeling, but the combat is out of place with the language learning, and the language learning discussions feel out of place with the setting. The game feels like good ideas on their own, but when mixed together, it doesn't blend well. It doesn't matter you made a wonderful lasagna and a magnificent ice cream - mixing both in the blender won't result in something good. Why the negative, if I only have said good things, only that they don't mix well? Well, I bought the game to help in language learning, and the game fights me against it making with a combat system that only slows down the learning process. So, thumbs down because the game hinders its own objective.
