[strike]The game crashes when you click on some of the buttons on the UI, which is always a bad sign. Some of the lessons just require you to remember exactly what someone said rather than the meaning of what they said, which is just challenging. I'm currently stuck on a 'puzzle' where I'm supposed to enter the a code based off of numbers on a boat, a bear, and a carrot. Which seems easy enough but at this point I have tried every combination of the numbers on those three things and none of them worked. Also, the number pad you're supposed to enter the numbers on is half off the screen so I just have to use the keyboard to get to those numbers - it's not great. Overall this certainly feels like a half finished game with potential but not worth spending money on in it's current form.[/strike] Shortly after I posted this there was an update to the game and the issue with the 'puzzle' was fixed, thank you dev! [strike]Still torn on recommending it, but I do appreciate the prompt fix![/strike] I've played it a bit more and it's certainly doing it's job. I am using several other language learning techniques, physical books, DuoLingo, Coffee Break Italian and this is a reasonable addi…1 found this helpful
I’ve always wanted to learn Italian, but apps never really kept my attention. WonderLang is different, it feels like playing a cute little RPG where you pick up Italian naturally as you go. I found myself remembering words just by talking to characters and doing quests. There were a few rough spots, but the game is super charming and the learning feels effortless. Great for beginners who want something more fun than flashcards. I am still using the green owl everyday, but WonderLang is a nice change of pace. I feel like I am acutally using the language for something.1 found this helpful
