Players are divided on That Potato Game, with some finding charm in its intentionally clunky physics and absurdist humor as a novelty experience, while others criticize its poor game design, rigid camera controls, and technical performance issues that make gameplay frustrating rather than fun. The game's low-poly visuals and deliberately awkward mechanics appeal to fans of games like Surgeon Simulator but alienate those seeking polished platforming, and several players report performance problems and camera issues that undermine the experience even for those willing to embrace its quirky premi
That Potato Game... What else can I say except... That Potato Game.... Absolute Cinema. I sincerely really cannot overstate how this game has changed my life for the better. The physics are so accurate to real life, I didn't even notice I was playing a game. I especially loved the time that Hilbert, that's my PotatOC, got soaked in "Coffee" and made many strange "noises". It reminded me a lot of my time in college, where I did similar things. 9/9 My zero key broke while playing.1 found this helpful
Could not get the game to function on my computer! Sad, since I love potatoes with eyes.
"That Potato Game" is a poorly made physics puzzle platformer, and the puzzle is whether the developers were serious about this or if it was put on Steam as a joke. What do you do in the game? This is one of those games like Surgeon Simulator where the gameplay isn't about the game at all, it's in fighting the deliberately badly done game controls and game physics. This is extremely poor game design philosophy because if the only "fun" thing about your game is the interface, then your game is not fun at all, and that's the case here. So, you roll a potato around with some janky controls and janky physics to pretend you're playing a really weak platformer. In terms of visuals, this features fairly low quality low poly 3D visuals which will deter a lot of gamers, understandably. Gaming is a visual medium, and while some developers struggle with creating high quality visuals, failing to do so is a disservice to gamers. It's very difficult to recommend bad looking games. On the matter of pricing and value for gamers, most "free" games on Steam aren't really free. There's often nasty mobile app cash shops, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any othe…
Camera movement is pretty bad, it’s very rigid. For a physics based game where you are rolling around and jumping a lot this makes things not good. The game is kinda laggy too, like it’s 30 fps or something. I have a good pc and can run more visually complex games.
If you want a good 30 minute experience, please give this a try!
nice game but the camera movement is killing me, is there a way to fix it or smth? i love tatos
