The Backrooms: Rescue Expedition

I only recommend this do to the potential it has. This game on demo was super fun had a few minor bugs. But we Bought it today and the amount of bugs and crashes were upsetting. we will try again down the road. But still worth a try.

Game has a lot of bugs but is still a lot of fun. We got to what seems to be the poolrooms but that's where the game ends. I hope there's more to come. The puzzles are easy enough, the levels can be challenging but overall good game.

Wasn't able to play it really because it's so poorly optimized. Spent 30 minutes on it, and its for sure the worst backrooms game I've played.

This one was extremely rough, as is to be expected from 99% of Backrooms games on Steam. I play these games because I'm a Backrooms fan, but don't go through my pain. The stuff listed below is what I sent to one of the developers directly, so even if it doesn't make sense to you on its own, keep in mind I was trying to be specific to let him know what was wrong. The good: - I liked the parking lot license plate puzzle to unlock one of the doors - I liked the hotel puzzle where you had to remember and turn around the framed pictures The bad: - big office level with the long arrows on ground leading to door - before the telephone that you have to answer, there's a switch (non-interactable) on the wall (when you see it, you go left towards the telephone), after answering the telephone on our first attempt, a door appeared on that wall that I could go through, but the host didn't see it and could not go through (softlock -> gotta restart the level) - office level with memory game - how are you meant to memorize the order of 30-40 numbers? (referring to the last monitor, with the most numbers) - the parking lot level - enemies would sometimes get stuck on the door of a room, and …

The first few levels are solid, but everything after that is unimaginative, disconnected from the whole backrooms vibe, monotonous, and the further you progress, the buggier the levels become. At one point, my friend and I got stuck on some level near the ocean. We couldn’t go down the slide, so the level was literally impossible to complete. We contacted the developer through his Discord server, and within two days he released a patch that fixed the issue, so we could continue normally. BIG RESPECT FOR THIS! Overall, the game feels very clunky and buggy. It’s also quite demanding performance-wise because it’s poorly optimized, but honestly, that’s the least of its problems. The thing I absolutely cannot get over is this: THE GAME LITERALLY HAS NO ENDING. Like, the game “ends” by loading a level where you’re stuck in some room you can’t leave. No credits, nothing XD. All in all, a 3/10 experience.

The frame rate even when locked to 30fps or 60fps was not stable at all. You run insanely fast. the mechanics of the classes are not clearly explained. I have played a ton of back rooms games and this was one of the worst. I could not handle more then 30min of this game.
