The Chronicles of King Arthur: Episode 2 - Knights of the Round Table

Some time ago I won The Chronicles of King Arthur: Episode 2 - Knights of the Round Table from groupees. I played it, but I'm a bit disappointed. I liked the voices and the story is something we already know, so nothing wrong there. Music is okay, but after hearing 1 time, that's more then enough. The 3 in a row, or however you call it, is nice. But I've seen levels more then once. He doesn't always recognize when there are no more moves, and a restart is frustrating. Timelimit is more then enough. I've never been in trouble. 1 or 2 times it went down below the half-point, just. There is a relax mode, but in my opinion, how slow do you want to play it. No achievements.

I have played a number of Match 3 games, and in my eyes this one is the worst. I didn't like the why the levels played with the recharging of each of the tools. Even though I got up to 4 different tools, the only one that you could use is the axe or removal of 1 tile. It's not worth the money or the effort.

I was told that there are developers around that actully try to improve their games if they make a 2nd part. Now forget such nonsens. This game is a carbon copy of the first one, only a few changes with the pictures but absolutely no changes with the game mechanics. So the same as my review for the first part could be copied here: a lame game without any excitement. Can't recommend this one.

If you enjoyed the first “Chronicles of King Arthur” match-3 game, you’ll also enjoy this second installment, since it is a direct continuation with the same format and gameplay. - Aesthetics - The character designs are gorgeous (I want an otome game with them), and the game boards are crisp with easily distinguishable symbol and obstacle icons. The same voice talents reprise the roles of the main characters, and they all do a great job (despite the varying pronunciations of “Cerdic”); however the narrator voice now sounds computer generated in an eerie uncanny valley way. I love the music tracks, I just wish there were more of them. You wind up hearing the same loops over and over, which starts to grate on the ears after a few hours. They went a little gung ho with the animal sound effects in this installment, which not only play on the upgrade screen but now intrude into the cutscenes and levels. The first cutscene sounds like it takes play at a zoo, and the entirety of chapter five is under attack by seagulls.
