About Anemoiapolis: Chapter 1
✦ AI summary
You're trapped in a sprawling underground network of eerily ordinary spaces, and you'll have to puzzle-solve, climb, and improvise your way out while unraveling the haunting mystery of how you got there. Anemoiapolis transforms mundane everyday locations into existential horror through procedurally shifting environments that actively work to disorient and confuse you.
You have fallen into a surreal and haunted underground neighborhood. Discover its origins and escape with your life - and sanity - intact.
Anemoiapolis finds horror in the familiar -- places so ordinary that film and TV usually avoid them. Experience the comfort of existential dread.
With nobody around to let you out, you'll have to forge your own path to the exit.
Push obstacles and smash windows -- whatever it takes to get to the next room.
Put your puzzle skills to the test. Break into electrical panels to access new areas.
Don't count on that door being there the next time you swing around. Things aren't always as they appear.
This game is designed from the ground-up to make you lost and confused. If you feel like you're going in circles, then you're on the right track.
Anemoiapolis is developed by Andrew Quist, a solo developer who takes heavy inspiration from his Michigan hometown. Encouraged by forum posts in late 2020 about "liminal spaces" and "the backrooms", Anemoiapolis is a personal retelling of those concepts.

I need chapter 2, keep going!3 found this helpful
This game was fantastic i highly reccomend it, very immersive and extremely desolate and haunting at times, but mostly using the enviroment and atmosphere to do so, not so much monsters or jump scares, it really feels like it ties into simulation theory and liminality, i totally reccomend this game and hope they come out with a chapter 2!2 found this helpful
the main hall song plays in my head when i get out of an elevator in real life1 found this helpful
If you enjoy walking in empty environments with nothing to do, this game is for you. There was nothing impressive in the game. Not a single rewarding moment at all. The times that something actually happened, it was just necessary things to progress in the game. I have no interest in finishing the game whatsoever. Edit: I have finished the game and apparently there's a different ending to unlock. Unfortunately, I have no interest in finding it.1 found this helpful
It’s a good liminal experience.
I enjoyed the presence of an "observer" who can sometimes be noticed.
1 found this helpful
I usually dont have a gripe with walking sim games, but this one is especially boring.
