About The Days Without Gods
"Welcome to Tylin, the capital of mages. Please remember that you are at a height of over 100 meters and that a great mage may be conducting world-changing experiments behind the stone wall at your hand. Please beware of strong winds and explosions, and all magical 'little accidents' you may encounter. If needed, please go to window 3 to purchase life insurance before you begin your journey."GAME
The Days Without Gods is a text-based DND fantasy ADV in which the player takes on the role of Mori Granson, an apprentice and subordinate of Hysso, the president of the Magic Association, and meets Coccinea, a young girl he rescued years ago, and other characters in the mage capital of Tylin.
While on an adventure with them, the protagonist will have to help them build a good relationship with each other and try to form an unrelated family, the Granson family - will he succeed?
STORY
Two hundred years after the departure of the gods, the Mage Capital stands as an anomaly in the southern lands, and mages think they are changing the order of the world. And it's not a small thing that happened in an unrelated, unusual family in Tylin.
Is "with you, never apart" a lie, or a prayer offered to the gods?

It is now G.L.196, 196 years have passed since God chose to leave this world, 147 years have passed since Archmage Papan re-analyzed the magic world, 126 years have passed since the establishment of Tylin, and now it has come to Industrialist Archmage Hysso to lead Tylin’s era.
Magic has now become a big business compared to the barbaric days when all you wanted to do was throw fireballs at the heads of dragons and goblins.
Water supply? Energy? Security? Transport? You can leave anything to the almighty Ivory Tower. Here, only you can't imagine that it can't be done without the ivory tower.

However, this is still the world of swords and magic. Even if they are stained with money, they are still mages full of unknowns and Romans. And now that the gods have departed, every head lacks the root muscle is peering into the void they left behind.
This of course has nothing to do with the families of ordinary people who make a living in Tylin. One such family is that of Mori Granson, and Mori, the head of the family, has troubles slightly beyond the scope of "every family has a skeleton in the cupboard”. How will Mori, who is approaching his thirtieth birthday, pick up the bitter suffering he left himself after being tied to the gods, the twisted products of fanatics who cling to their power even after they have left.
"Mori, you're never leaving, are you?"

I didn't see any English reviews, and several people were asking in the forum whether the English version is machine translated. Glad to report that the translation is pretty good and definitely not machine translated. From the first 15 minutes or so of speed reading, the story is interesting as well and this is not a low effort visual novel.36 found this helpful
The English localization of this game is somewhere in between machine translation (I know because I read quite a handful of chinese webnovel that are machine translated) and people whose primary language isn't English or isn't their strong suit. Spelling errors and grammatical errors are to be expected, and those are something that can be easily be overlook. But the issues that I have with the localization is that it is trying to hard to use big words and the way they phrase certain sentences. Here are some example Example 1 and Example 2 . The english localization is both readable and understandable, but I got a headache when my brain try to autocorrect in my head. The artstyle is nice and I really like the music at the main menu. The voice actors are alright but that is based on the first 30 minutes of gameplay only. For the english speakers out there, I can and cannot recommend you getting this. Why? It all depend on your level of tolerance for the mistakes/errors the game have for their English localization. For me, I like…18 found this helpful
The translation is pretty bad and it takes quite a bit of effort to try and understand the 'original' intention of each sentence. That would be OK and tolerable if the story were any good, but it isn't. It does start off somewhat strong but immediately falls into a boring harem setting "because reasons". The story suffers from pacing issues, spending too much time on dull, pointless things, and suddenly skipping forward in time in the next slide. In fairness there is a decent amount of voice acting and lots of dialogue but it's in sore need of some decent translation to carry it.2 found this helpful
The Days Without Gods is a narrative-driven fantasy adventure developed by 季森造纸工坊 and published by WindField Games. It unfolds in a world that has been abandoned by its deities for more than two centuries, a setting that serves as both the backdrop and the central metaphor for its themes of loss, faith, and human adaptation. You play as Mori Granson, a thirty-year-old mage’s apprentice living in the capital city of Tylin, a place where magic has evolved into a tool of bureaucracy and commerce rather than wonder. Without the gods to guide them, humanity has built its own system of order through the power of mages and scholars, giving the world a sense of both progress and decay. The story begins quietly, but as it unfolds, it exposes the moral and emotional fragility of a society that thrives despite having long forgotten what it means to believe in something greater than itself. From the very beginning, The Days Without Gods establishes itself as a text-heavy experience designed for players who enjoy slow, reflective storytelling. The game plays out largely through dialogue, inner monologue, and branching narrative paths, presented with visual novel-style character portraits and b…
The Days Without Gods was a surprisingly nice read for me. At first I was hesitant about picking this up because the few English reviews did not have great things to say about the translation, but even though it was not great the translation is way better than I expected. It does read really awkwardly, however, it is a far cry better than being machine translated. Even through the funky translation I found it easy to understand the story and the conversations between characters. I greatly enjoyed the world that was built in this novel, it was such a pleasant and unique premise that really hooked me. The art work is also beautiful and has its own unique charm. Though the funky special effects for action scenes weren't great by any means they do convey what was happening at least and that definitely adds a lot of flair to what is basically a 2D picture book. I personally think this is a worth while read and hope to see more people pick this one up someday.
