I like the original, but the VR version gives me motion sickness in a way that no other VR game does.

It's literally the same game as the original, but packaged as a VR game. It's fun enough, though If you played the original you've played this one. I only noticed one new anomaly that scared the ♥♥♥♥ out of me. Overall, buy it on sale.

The game crashed on us 3 times in 8 minutes. If you accidently phase through the wall even a millimeter - hard crashes the whole game. Shouldnt be a problem for those that choose to sit while playing.

The Exit 8 VR is a minimalist yet profoundly unsettling virtual reality experience developed by MyDearest Inc. in collaboration with KOTAKE CREATE and published by MyDearest Inc., translating a deceptively simple indie concept into an intensely immersive VR journey. Rather than relying on traditional horror mechanics such as combat, jump scares, or elaborate narratives, the game places its entire weight on atmosphere, repetition, and the quiet dread that emerges from subtle environmental changes. From the moment you find yourself standing in a sterile, fluorescent-lit underground passageway, the game establishes a sense of isolation and unease that only deepens the longer you remain within its confined space. The premise is straightforward to the point of abstraction: you are trapped in a looping subway corridor, and your objective is to reach Exit 8 by correctly responding to the presence or absence of anomalies. Each walk down the passage forces you to scrutinize your surroundings with intense focus, searching for minute inconsistencies—objects slightly out of place, lighting that feels wrong, figures that shouldn’t be there. If you miss an anomaly or misjudge a normal corridor …

TL;DR The game is worth checking out, but I recommend buying normal, non-VR version instead. Very short and simple yet fun little game, that tests your attention for details. You’re stuck in a looping corridor. If the corridor looks normal, you proceed forward. If you notice any abnormalities you turn around and go back. Do so correctly several times in a row and you reach an exit. Beating it once can take anywhere from less than 10 minutes to more than an hour, depending on how good you are at spotting anomalies. Speaking of which, there are 30+ of these, and getting all of them gets you an achievement. Beyond that there isn’t anything to do here. There aren’t any mechanics other than running and looking around. There is no interaction with the environment or anything like that. Some anomalies can be a little creepy or jumpscary, but your aren’t ever in any danger. So as long as you keep all of that in mind and like the “spot the difference” kind of games, I say it’s worth checking out. The VR version of it isn’t worth your time though. It doesn’t really do anything that different in my opinion, yet it’s sold separately and costs more. Just play the normal version.
