You start with a single branch on a flying island and a dream — becoming the greatest tree of them all.
You can grow your tree in any shape and direction, but beware — new branches cost energy.
Growing leaves helps maintain energy balance and you need to be careful with it if you want to continue growing.
Reaching new heights unlocks new leaves you can use.
Some of the zones suppress your tree and you can't grow new parts inside them, but you can still grow through them and reach new heights.

Not bad. I'd say buy on sale. The 1000 energy sources achievement is ridiculously tedious and I had to leave the game open for an hour or two of just taking breaks because it was not enjoyable, but if you're just trying to explore the game and don't bother with 100% you'll basically just have a good time. It's fun and if you're just going to space and the underground there's nothing which really overstays its welcome.2 found this helpful
