The Last Crown: Midnight Horror

I thought about it and went back n forth on a rating. For a minute I was going to say I wish there were a neutral choice, but not really. This game is just a real clunker. Too bad because the graphics are kind of cool, there are many very cozy rooms and characters; although most of them are NPCs you can't communicate with. There are a couple of cozy things like games and ghost equipment. The problem is you almost NEVER know what to do next! Most games give you at least some idea, but not this one. Most of the "progress" comes by accident. I don't mind exploration, but this is ridiculous. On top of that, when you do finally accomplish something, you only find yourself wandering around in circles not knowing what the hell to do next. The rest is just a mess. And object exploration is nearly non-existent, meaning, how many times are you going to hear him say - that's a bad idea. It's like being scolded for exploring, which is the very thing the game forces you to do! It also really needs a hotspot indicator since objects and locations are very easy to miss. I enjoyed this one. It’s extremely short, but it still delivers the same spooky atmosphere that made me like *The Lost Crown* in the first place, and it definitely scratched my investigative itch. I also really liked spending more time with Nigel, Lucy, and the other characters from the first game. That familiarity gave this micro-adventure a nice sense of continuity and made the short runtime feel worthwhile. My main complaint is readability. I really hope the developer makes the text in the books more legible in the next game. Having to put on reading glasses and then lean as close as possible to the monitor just to read things is irritating, uncomfortable, and takes me out of the experience. It hurts immersion more than it should. There aren’t any achievements here, but for a small side adventure, I still recommend it. If you liked *The Lost Crown* and want a brief return to that world, this is worth playing.

This is a nice "halloween special" set right after the events of the first game, but it's pretty short and there's not really much to it. So if you're a fan of the original game, and you're looking for something fun for halloween I would recommend getting it. But If you didn't played the first game or you're not much into it then you can skip it.

This is soooo coool! It's like i'm treveled in time machine! Played the new game with old graphics and same characters from first game part "The Lost Crown" - this is truly notlagic & genius!!!!!
