About The Last Letter

You are Mike.Mike is a film student at a local university who is used to filming all the interesting events of his life on camera. Some time ago, Mike started receiving mysterious letters from an unknown sender. These letters contain nothing but a strange drawing, the coordinates of a place somewhere in the forest near the city, and a single sentence written beneath the coordinates:"There you will learn the truth about your past."Taking his camera, Mike gets into his old sedan and sets off to check these coordinates, while also hoping to capture some interesting footage for his graduation project.Features:
  • Realistic sound design inspired by old video and audio recordings.
  • A unique visual style inspired by retro VHS aesthetics.
  • Scary moments that will send shivers down your spine.
This is an indie horror game with a playtime of approximately 30–50 minutes.

Extremely good scary atmosphere and sound scape. Superb use of sounds in the distance to give an unnerving vibe to the whole game. Fairly decent story as well. I think the scares in the game were not as strong however, although they were fine/servicable. If the developer can improve the scares to match the quality of the atmosphere and sound design they setup they could become a top tier horror developer. To improve the scares: less in your face grabbing you, more disturbing visuals. Often it is what you don't see that is scariest of all, so catching glimpses of something leaves a stronger feeling of fear. This way when the full reveal does come it is much more traumatic

The ending was magnificent, a well paced game and story with traumatizing jump scares, lol. Looking forward to what the dev creates next. Great sounds and eerie spooky atmosphere in this house, and of course the loop at the end. See my playthrough here: https://youtu.be/kKxKhwl6uJQ

JustTomcuk is a master at creating anxiety using sound effects and background noises. The game play is straight forward and the story is compelling, but it's always the ambiance that gets me on these games. It's also the reason I keep playing them.
