I have spent about 90 minutes playing The Late Guest. You start in Golden Grove, which is an abandoned theme park. The “You are Here” map points you in the direction of a security office. Upon arrival, you learn that you are starting a shift and are instructed to head towards the Ferris Wheel. You trudge across a landscape of colored lights and abandoned structures and find that the obvious route to the Ferris Wheel is blocked. I continue exploring and try to avoid a creature wandering through the woods. I find a crowbar and a generator. When holding the generator, I cannot figure out how to use the crowbar. I try different keys until my generator disappears (whoops!). Now I have only one item, but it is no longer usable. I exit the game, hoping that the generator will reappear. Surprise! There is no save function, and I am back to the opening scene. I think that perhaps I did not get far enough to trigger a save so I repeat everything and ask the developer for help. Turns out that the key bindings are posted in a guide that I did not think to look for. This time I successfully turn a green light red and access a new room.
