About Last Night Shift

An employee arrives for his night shift at the motel. Tonight will be his final night at this job. His cheerful colleague, Sarah, goes home for the night and he is left alone. His final night seems just as boring as any other at the motel. As always, it is an empty, forgotten place. The man is performing his usual duties, when he suddenly starts to see disturbing, blood-curdling visions. When a strange and scary visitor appears in the forgotten motel, the man’s final night shift turns into a nightmarish fight for his life.

✦ AI summary

Players appreciate Last Night Shift as a solid, fairly priced indie horror experience with effective atmosphere and B-movie charm, though they note it's a short, straightforward game that doesn't reinvent the genre. Common criticisms include limited interactivity, a single ending, and a sparse motel setting that could benefit from additional NPCs and environmental depth, though the game runs well technically and delivers its horror premise competently for the price.

Last Night Shift is an indie psychological horror game that takes a familiar setting and turns it into an effective stage for suspense and unease. Developed and published by Sysreb Games, the title places players in the role of a motel employee working one final overnight shift before leaving the job behind. The developers understand that effective horror is often about anticipation rather than constant shocks. As a result, much of the fear comes from the uncertainty of what may happen next. Every dark corner, unusual sound, and unexpected visual cue cont…

Last Night Shift doesn't exactly rewrite the genre and you won't be remiss if you skip it, but it's short, simple, reasonably priced for what you're getting, and the dialog is unironically B-movie cheesy. Limited key rebinding is available (only letter keys, unfortunately) and it runs flawlessly on Linux out of the box.

I’ve finished the game; for its price, it’s absolutely a pretty good little game.

The interesting game. It’s a pity there’s only one ending, as far as I can tell. Also, there were no other guests in the hotel - it would’ve been better if there were. And a bit more interactivity would be nice.
