About The Paper Game

"A TEARABLE game with CUTTING-edge gameplay"

The Paper Game is a creation containing all the joys and wonders of tearing paper, with only a fraction of the mess! What more have you ever wanted in a game themed around paper?

Click and drag your mouse, tearing through classic 8.5" x 11" sheets. Race against the clock, cutting through "objective" stickers, all the while avoiding various enemies and weaving around deceptively eye-catching stickers. Be careful not to cut anything else, otherwise your paper will ignite and your run will end! Doing well will reward you with stars, which unlocks new sticker packs, paper types, and INKredible paper puns!

Quickly tear paper to shreds

Frantically cut through 100s of themed stickers

Tactically avoid ink-like enemies

Unlock the finest paper puns

Enjoy satisfying paper sounds

Another one of those games I probably added to my cart during a random sale and then forgot about. It's pretty polished, with good music, a nice interface, and lots of little details, like awful jokes you can buy, among other things. What might not be as great is the game design, which is a bit bland: basically, you have to cut paper, and as you progress, the levels get more complicated, with enemies, control instability, and objectives you have to cut in order, among other things. It has a bit of a feel of the classic Qix and similar games. It's not a game that manages to stands out, but it's good for killing time, and you can tell a lot of care went into its development. Fantastic game, I can't recommend it enough. It's a very simple premise but it's super addicting, it also manages to keep everything fresh with a large variety of gameplay modifiers, sticker packs and different sheets of paper (and tons of funny paper puns). There's also an unlockable custom mode which lets you play with any sort of combination of the items you've unlocked in the main career (and also a randomizer button, so pretty much infinite possibilities after you're done with the main career). A very fun hidden gem!

This is a very fun game, and has a lot more than I first thought, a huge amount of content, tons of replayability, and very nice music, concept, and aesthetic. I remember meeting the team behind this game at TooManyGames one year, very cool guys, and it is so cool to see how far it has come since then. With that said, I do not mean to come off as a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, but I believe some parts could be improved. This is mostly for the devs but, the mouse tracking can feel very incorrect at times, whether it is because I am moving my mouse too fast, or a programming thing, idk, but it feels like I am not making as sharp a curve, or loose a curve that the game says SOMETIMES. It is not all the time, but when it keeps happening in a run, it is a bit annoying. Also hitboxes, sometimes I swear hit/didn't hit something only for the game to say otherwise. Idk if this is a skill issue or what but the hitboxes for the stickers, "powerups", and enemies feel inconsistent. Lastly the little bubbles that appear, look extremely similar. Idk if that was the intent, and yes I do see that the outer line is a different color for each, but I have had multiple times where I swore I was hitting a key or something…

A great game overall. The challenges are there, and not as easy as it may seem. Great for all ages. Can have up to three accounts and three different difficulties allowing peaceful paper cutting to seat-tilting engaged gameplay. Great change of pace compared to other games. Loved every second.
