Remember when you would play a fighting game as a kid and the computer was so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cheap and infuriating and frustrating that you kept playing out of sheer anger? thats this janky ass, masochistic, slavslop game. Map, compass, weapons, ammo, anything you want to use you have to hover over with the mouse and click to pick up and/or use the action key. the problem any object no matter how crucial or how much time or money you spent getting is at risk of clipping through the ground at any given time. the combat is some of the worst I've seen in a 3D video game since the playstation and n64 to the point it's not even worth trying to do. mercifully theres a "peaceful" mode option, but at that point why even add combat to the game.? I've spent 20 hours on this game and despite upgrading every component of my truck, it's just as ♥♥♥♥♥♥ as it was at the start. It still struggles to go up a 5 degree incline, still barely enough capacity to carry any amount of cargo that will barely pay for the gas you spend to go the delivery point. I bought a trailer, but that just makes it even harder to get anywhere that isn't paved and downhill. Interesting choice to make the primary vehicle of…1 found this helpful
Lot's of fun. I just wish there was more of a modding community for it. Scratches that itch the way MSC does and in it's own way.1 found this helpful
I have a lot of mixed feelings about this game even though I recommend it with just over a hundred hours clocked in. The good: Building and customizing your vehicles is a ton of fun and I've gotten a lot of enjoyment just designing frankenstein trucks. Driving (when your vehicle is configured right) is a lot of fun, off-roading even moreso. The atmosphere makes for some kino coziness, like smoking a cigarette on the beach during sunset after a long, treacherous haul across the coast. The bad: The jank! This game is full of jank, so if that's your bread and butter then you're in luck. Objects fall through terrain and seem to rez mid-air above where they were last placed when you leave an area & come back; neatly organized piles will explode into big messes. For example, I stocked a fridge with vodka and sausage, saved and quit and when I loaded my file the next day, the fridge was up to the ceiling, sitting on top of a pile of meat and booze lol... Neatly stacked tires will collapse into piles and disappear through the ground... Etc. Etc. This game seriously needs a better save system. There's no autosave, so if you die or make a mistake, that's potentially an hour or so of prog…
This game is pretty fun but it suffers from several major gameplay issues that are making me not recommend it at this time. The ground eats objects as the terrain height is set higher than the world's floor which causes objects to disappear into the ground. The save system is badly optimized. There are no auto saves so if you forget to save for awhile or like my your computer decides to restart at the end of a job then all your progress is lost. Currently I can't figure out cheat engine or editing the save file with Notepad ++ to recover the nearly 2 hours of progress and losing $700,000. So there is that. Dogs can apparently attack while driving the truck which is a pain. Buying drugs from the cartel in Oasis and then closing the game loses the package when opening the game again. I had purchased a meth brick, saved and quit, then when I opened the game today found out that the brick had disappeared. So I lost $110,000 bc of the game bugs. I'm sure there are cool things to do in the game but every time I get close to accomplishing something my progress gets reset or bugs make progression impossible. If these issues are fixed I'd recommend this.
Developer dismisses bug reports as user error even though process of elimination was used. Wouldn't even recommend this game for .99c
hard but good
