The Stairway 7 is an endless loop anomaly hunter game where you are stuck in a endless loop of stairways with a cat and you have to observe your surroundings carefully to reach the exit. Anomalies are watching, and ready to hunt you down. Don't take them with you up the stairways to the exit otherwise they will hurt you, and eventually kill you.
The rules are simple: Don't overlook any anomalies. If you find anomalies, go down the stairways to banish and remove them. If you don't find anomalies, continue up the stairways. However, how carefully can you scan and memorize the environment and your surroundings? This game will make you find out. Do you have what it takes?

It's enjoyable for a single run, but definitely not worth the asking price. Honestly, the dev shot themselves in the foot here with that one because it instantly sets the bar higher and makes people more critical of your game. For a one-and-done at about a dollar or two, it's a good time. At ten dollars I'm going to compare it to Observation Duty, and Stairway 7 is going to come up short.1 found this helpful
Should be called Poop Your Pants, but I finished it.
The room containing the anomalies is very small. The manner of clearing them is annoying and time-consuming, requiring you to go all the way back down to the previous floor and then proceed through the floor that had the anomaly in it. Once you realize that the anomalies are not random, it just becomes tedious.
Definitely one of the better and more narrative-driven anomaly games I've come across—at least as narrative-driven as a game in this genre can reasonably be. The 70-floor stairwell setting, combined with the anomaly-clearing mechanic, felt different from what I'm used to seeing in these types of games, and I found that change refreshing. The relatively small area that needed to be examined on each floor made the prospect of clearing 70 levels feel far less daunting than it initially seemed. Furthermore, the fact that the entire game doesn't reset after a mistake (unless you're playing on Hardcore Mode) makes the experience significantly less tedious than many other anomaly games. As a result, progression feels much more rewarding and far less repetitive. The game also features a cat. that's always a good decision by any game developer.
If you pet the cat, everything will be okay. :) I did enjoy this short horror game. I think there is one fatal flaw, which is *SPOILERS* - - - - that the anomalies aren't randomized. But I still would recommend it!
I would absolutely recommend this game. It's a really great one in the Exit 8 genre. What I like most about it is that it doesn't overload the level with a ton of debris and it can have trickier anomalies in it without it feeling unfair, and when you miss something, you really do feel like it's on you. It was appropriately creepy without the need for ridiculous jump scares, and there was a lot of game here - especially compared to some games in this genre. I am going to be following this developer and looking forward to more games like this. I'm super impressed, especially since this was a solo dev. If you are a fan of anomaly hunting, this is one you really don't want to miss.
