What Steam players say
Recent verbatim reviews from Steam — separate from playze.io community reviews below.
The Stonks Market is a short, satirical narrative experience that divides players on its execution and scope. Supporters praise its humor, multiple endings, and moments of clever satire, while critics find the gameplay too minimal—essentially just dialogue choices and basic stock trading mechanics—making it feel more like an interactive skit than a complete game. Many players struggle with the game's overall message and feel the stock market premise doesn't effectively serve the satire it's attempting.

Felt like a wasted hour, I don't really get the game wants to be, but it has very little to do with stonks and this isn't how stonks generally work for them to be used as a medium for a message I don't really get. A letdown, in the end.
The Stonks Market is a short narrative-driven experience built around satire and light decision-making. While the branching paths provide some incentive to replay, the overall experience remains quite limited in scope. There are very few actual gameplay systems beyond selecting a couple of dialogue options or buying and selling stocks, making it feel closer to an interactive skit than a fully developed game. Overall, The Stonks Market is a harmless, short-lived experience. It offers a couple of amusing moments and multiple endings, but the limited gameplay prevents it from being something I would actively recommend.
The Good
+ Three different endings + Short narrative experience with a few funny moments
The Neutral
* Not good enough to recommend, not bad enough to discourage buying
The Bad
- Very limited gameplay elements - Couldn't figure out how to unlock two of the achievements My wife's boyfriend won
5 / 10 - IGN
Masterpiece. The story is quite good.
While the game is, for the most part, hyper realistic, I found the possibility of actually making money in the stock market to be jarring. In addition, I was disappointed that my wife's boyfriend did not invite me to his ranch. Still, I appreciated the advice given to me by Harambe, and intend to to take a out a loan on my house this coming Monday and go balls deep in $POOP.
