About The Town of Nie

INTRODUCTION

Welcome to the Inn...
The protagonist is a young man named Hisora, who works several blue-collar part-time jobs. One day, he suddenly finds himself lost in a strange world.
This is an otherworldly boys-love fantasy in which Hisora will risk his life to find a way back to his world.

This is a boys' love (romance between men) text adventure game in which the player selects choices and the actions of the main character to advance the story.

STORY

"How did I end up here?"

The main character Hisora lost his family when he was a teenager, and now gets by working a menial part-time job.

One day while working his job, Hisora notices a young man in mourning clothes who drops a bouquet of white flowers while heading into a dark alley.

Unable to let it be, Hisora picks up the bouquet and follows him. However, after passing through the long, dark alley Hisora loses sight of the young man, and finds himself standing at an Inn, the entrance to another world. While dazed, Hisora is welcomed by the Inn's residence, and hears something that surprises him.

This is a world where death is a far-away concept.

There's a man who walks around with a crushed head, and a child who plays with his own head as if it were a ball.
And other Freaks with terrifying deformities.

Hisora is the only flesh and blood human, wandering around in this world filled with creepy things. He looks for a way to return to his own world, but there is none.

Hisora searches for a way to return home with the help of the Inn's inhabitants. He ventures into the town, where the scent of the living attracts the dead who live there.

What will Hisora find at the conclusion of his life-threatening search?

CHARACTER

The protagonist of this story, who works several blue-collar part-time jobs. Though he may seem like a cool character at a first glance, he's very talkative, full of emotions, and honest.
However he is oblivious to the affections directed towards him, often neglecting them without realizing it.
Chasing after a young man in mourning clothes, he finds himself wandering into the Inn.
The inhabitant of room 301.
A careless person who loves drinking, smoking, and large breasts. With his excellent communication skills, he has the potential to become drinking buddies with most anyone in this world full of difficult people.
However, he can be lazy and tends to half-ass everything.
The inhabitant of room 304.
Due to his short-temper and his tendency to be frank, he has many enemies both inside and outside of the Inn.
He's happy to accept any fight, and will turn the tables on his accoster with his beloved metal bat.
While everyone agrees to let the irregular presence of Hisora stay at the Inn, he is the only one opposed to it.
The inhabitant of room 207.
A well-behaved young man who can make calm and careful decisions.
He is quite serious, and can be inflexible at times.
He is always concerned for Hisora, but he himself claims that they are not acquaintances in this world.
The inhabitant of room 306.
A good cook, he is in charge of all the chores at the Inn.
He is gentle, caring, and playful. This together with his looks makes him extremely popular among everyone, from the residents of the Inn, to the townsfolk, men and women young and old.

The game is enjoyable and I love the MC. It is not as dark as I thought it would, especially since we only get one image of the Freaks and others are just through narrations and dialogues. Still, the disturbing images exist, so proceed with caution if you are not good with that kind of thing. Speaking of dialogues, the faceless NPCs are only partially voiced but I don't mind. I've been trying to get the true end, but even with a guide, I still cannot, so I give up. Maybe just me. Got the game on discount.

I just finished playing Mio's route, cleared all the 5 endings There is a little bit of nsfw contents, but from what I looked up online, most/all of the sex scenes are removed, kinda disappointed... But the story line is great, I really love Mio I saw that there will be another coming out, and I hope that perhaps the company will try reaching out to Jast instead of dramatic create perhaps? As I have heard from Reddit that Jast won't censored and removed sex scenes and extremely gore scenes, but dramatic create will Well, since I got it during the promotion, I got no words to say. I would said that the price is quite fair since it's reduced by half, with good storyline, character, CGs, and voices.. But for it to be RM133, you should include those scenes inside or else please reduce the price... But would I recommend others to play this game? YES Just a bit disappointed that I can't see something that I was expecting to see and hoping to see... Hopefully the next upcoming game of town of nie will include the mature content..

The game's plot is interesting and the characters are too, but the game is censored like crazy. the only thing being whipped out was my card as I bought the full version in Japanese. Spent like $93 on the first game alone if you add it up LOL this version has some major quality issues compared to the original but it's the only one in English so what can ya do? The story makes me feel sick in a good way. The more you play and the more you think about the characters and events, different parts recontextualize each other. I don't think I'll be forgetting about this game anytime soon

review: nie no machi ⭐ mixed i’ve been waiting for this game to get an english release since 2018, so i was glad when it was finally announced. that said, learning it would be a direct port of the switch version instead of the original pc release was a bit disappointing. the biggest change is the removal of the r18 content. honestly, after finishing the game, i’d say it still works completely fine without those scenes. there isn’t much to miss out on. what bothered me more was the switch-style ui. having to check the manual just to figure out which button skips text instead of having a simple skip option on the textbox was clunky and annoying. story-wise, i’d give the plot around a 7/10. it isn’t perfect, but the characters are really the highlight here. each route has its flaws (asuku’s and naruomi’s endings especially), and it’s hard to tell which one is supposed to be the "true" end. thankfully, the fandisk helps clear that up. if you can read japanese, i’d actually recommend playing the dlsite pc version for the fandisk. the ui is miles better and the writing is fairly simple to follow. but for an english release, this version is serviceable, just not the definitive one.
