About The Undercut: Racing Manager

Make the call. Take the undercut.

You're not the driver. You're the one who decides when to pit, which tires to run, and whether to push a failing engine to the finish — or play it safe. One call can win a championship. One mistake can lose it.The Undercut: Racing Manager is a deep motorsport management simulation with a retro 90s pixel art style — inspired by the golden era of racing games and the depth of Football Manager.

Physics-driven races — not scripted, not random.

Races play out in real time on a 2D engine powered by actual physics. Dirty air slows down trailing cars. Drafting on straights creates overtaking opportunities. Tire temperatures rise and fall based on driving style, weather, and track surface. Engine components degrade and can fail under stress. The outcome of every race emerges from the simulation — not from a dice roll or a pre-written script. Your setup choices, your strategy calls, your development decisions all feed into a race that nobody can predict.

Procedurally generated circuits — every season is different.

No fixed calendar. Each season, new circuits join the championship while others drop off — just like in real motorsport. Tracks are procedurally generated with unique layouts, corner profiles, and characteristics. You can't memorize the meta. You adapt or you fall behind.

Build your team from the ground up.

Manage budgets, hire staff, sign drivers, and negotiate with engine suppliers. Develop your car across the season — balance speed against reliability, invest in aerodynamics or mechanical grip, plan upgrades around the calendar.Every supplier comes with strengths and weaknesses. Every decision has a trade-off. Championship glory doesn't come from one good race — it comes from a season of smart calls.

Retro soul, modern depth.

Inspired by the management games and pixel art aesthetics of the 90s and early 2000s. Dense information layouts. Fast navigation. No flashy cinematics — just you, the data, and the decisions that matter.---

KEY FEATURES

  • Physics-driven 2D race engine — dirty air, drafting, tire temperature, mechanical failures. Every race is unscripted.
  • Procedurally generated circuits — unique track layouts with distinct corner profiles and characteristics. No two seasons share the same calendar.
  • A living, breathing world — circuits join and leave the calendar based on media coverage, fan interest, and economic shifts. Sponsors grow or pull out. Suppliers enter the market or collapse. Driver reputations rise and fall with results. Everything is connected, everything moves.
  • Dynamic supplier ecosystem — engine manufacturers and part suppliers evolve based on global car market trends and competition results. Back the right partner early and ride their rise — or get stuck with a declining giant.
  • Sponsors that react — your media exposure, race results, and championship standing determine who wants to back you and who walks away. No sponsor deal is permanent.
  • Deep team management — budgets, staff, car development, contract negotiations. Every decision has long-term consequences.
  • Car development system — upgrade components, balance speed vs reliability, plan your development roadmap around an ever-changing calendar.
  • Race strategy — setup choices, tire compounds, pit timing, real-time tactical calls during physics-driven races.

This game has a lot of potential, but I see a lot of flaws and holes in this game that keep me from recommending it to others What is the TV rating metric based off? There could be 7 DNFS and 65 overtakes in a race and they still rate it a procession. The voice and language used in explaining the tutorial is very obviously AI generated, which makes me wonder how much of this game was vibe coded. In my few hours of playing this game I have only seen 1 major crash that has brought out the safety car. I expect weather to be implemented in the near future to spice things up a bit, but in its current state the racing is extremely one dimensional and flat. I can use the same one stop hard strategy to get myself 3rd place consistently without fail. It feels like every race, barring the shape of the circuit, the results mostly pan out the same way. I know this is an early access game, but at its current price-point, I find it extremely hard to recommend this to anyone.

Though there is many things left to be improved, I have played this for 68 hours in the first 10 days. I love that every new save is different, from how lucky you get trying to sign up with sponsors and suppliers, whether your tyres have a hidden positive or negative trait attached to them, the amount of part problems you face and the positive and negative traits that you may recieve once investigated, did you hire amazing hidden talent to drive your cars or are they posers that crash constantly... Hope this game finds enough buyers to allow it to grow to its potential.

Very promosing, fun game! ai still needs some balancing but the creator is very active and listens to feedback. With the easy modding this has potential to be an amazing game!

So far i would say i am enjoying this game very much i love racing games and very much so like management type games so this has been a good one for me. I'm most excited for when the GT and Touring series gets released eventually.

Definitely some room for some Quality of Life improvements. And I haven't had any crashes or safety cars (could be the regs I guess) in my time yet, so I'd love that to get looked at. Doesn't seem like there's weather yet, either. So, it's pretty clear that this is an early access game. But what is here is really fun and engaging, and I think its going in a really good direction.

This is ...magic. I love all the systems. The first time ever my ingame Mailbox holds relevant information. I really feel like a manager. Incredible! It shows again that Indy Developers can create the most awesome games. Well done! EDIT: It is even better than I said. ONE MORE TURN!
