I can't remember when was the last time game had me check its manual to find a code, beyond MGS1's Codec frequency, but Home now has that dubious honor if you want an optional achievement + note bringing some narrative clarity. Game itself is perhaps a bit too simple, but that may be of P&C charms if you boil them down. You barely even need puzzles these days if you can make due with atmosphere. Our protagonist wakes up dazed in a house he doesn't recognize. At first blaming it on sleepwalking he then goes along with the flow as mystery compounds. Going through some kind of industrial plant, one where he seems to have worked at, and even finds his way through the local park while making a horrible discovery seemingly unrelated to his own motivation - get home to Rachel. All set against the backdrop of an impending storm looking to shake up more than just local weather. That summary above is meatier exposition than Home provides, but that's more because this a slow burn. Using minimalist pixel-art visuals and subtle storytelling, the game creates a deeply unsettling mystery that slowly unfolds through exploration and observation. Instead of overwhelming players with monsters or constant jump scares, Home builds tension through silence, isolation, and the disturbing possibility that the truth may never become completely clear. The result is a horror experience that feels intimate, personal, and psychologically uncomfortable long after it ends. DO NOT PLAY AT 3AM!! (COPS CALLED) (GONE WRONG) I thought it would just be a cozy 2d game, but it turns out I was going through a massive mental breakdown where its all a lie. One minute you're looking for your wife, the next, you're questioning whether you or anything else exists. I lost the plot Good game 9/10

Went home to relax ended up living in someone else’s memory and now I owe it rent.

Short but nicely atmospheric horror game. I had a decent enough time with it. Just be aware I have 100%'ed the game in my 4hr playtime though, so if you are looking for a longer horror game, this may not be for you.

Decent game. The ending is really only determined by choices that you make on the very last level. Until that point, the game is pretty linear. The game autosaves your progress, so you can't go back to the start of the last level and change your ending choices to get different endings, meaning you have to play through the entire game to see the different ends. This unfortunately makes seeing the other endings pretty tedious unless you just look them up online. That said, it's still worth a playthrough, especially at the cheap price. It's not super scary, more atmospheric and creepy, and I enjoyed it for that. The mystery is intriguing enough to keep you going, and the main game itself is short enough that it doesn't overstay its welcome, but long enough to still leave an impression. It leaves a lot up for interpretation, but not in a lazy or unfinished way; it's done very deliberately and makes you think about the possibilities.
