more akin to a free flash game you'd find on newgrounds. this doesn't make it bad, but the price tag immediately makes this not really worth lol. feels like an attempt at a stanley parable type game, but it doesn't have the sauce nor wittiness. the humour is mostly "omg u did something different! come on!! i didnt want u to do that!!!" or "woah, wasn't that so weird?? erm, that just happened" for a game called thought experiment simulator, it has very little to actually say about these concepts.

I followed the game before release, and the idea of a philosophical, Stanley Parable-esque "Only 1000 IQ Can Beat This" brain teaser game was interesting to me, so I picked it up. It is... not like that. The gameplay is primarily listening, then doing some pretty basic clicking-the-button-in-front-of-you to see some out-of-place silly thing happen. I guess that's probably how it's meant to be, so that's... fine, I just found it boring. The Sisyphus level, for example, I expected
something to happen where, say, I could just drag away the boulder or drag the horizon line down in order to render the dilemma moot. No, you just... You just keep clicking Sisyphus. Over and over. He gets a hat, eventually, isn't that cool?
In short, I expected more "brain teaser" than "it goes in the square hole." And I got square hole. The Story mode is useless (the dilemma overview could literally be a box on the pause menu,) but the narrator himself is great. Kudos to the VA! ...I did start skipping parts towards the end.

I gotta say, there's a lot of creativity on display here! The game dev somehow manages to create a fun and silly minigame for every thought experiment that go along well with the concept! And there were several I'd never even heard of before! Funny and informative, the power couple!!

Thought experiment simulator is an interesting game that turned thought-provoking philosophical concepts and memes into mini-games. The graphics are cute and sound effects are hilarious. I enjoyed playing this game, although some mini games in challenge mode are sped up so fast that it requires an extremely fast mouse speed to finish. Will recommend it to people who also enjoys exploring different interpretations of philosophical concepts and philosophy memes.
