if you are straight and male, don't waste a dime on this. the writer is female and does not care one bit about being fair. the game is set up as some harem fantasy for females. there are only 3, and you only have the option to make 2/3 female where fem players can flip all to male. aside from the unfair disparity, the few love interests male players get are described as gross, muscular, butch/masculine. the larger part of the story paints you as a weak willed, and powerless dandy damsel that needs protecting rather than a leader/powerhouse. a POS that gets kicked around like a dog by pretty much everyone. gets beaten/loses all the time takes too long to change that. only female player's or player's with masochistic tendencies might enjoy this. so save your money for an amateur game developer who can take your money and show equal respect in their 'inclusion' for hetero males as they do gay/trans/females. which most assuredly won't be from any 'high politics' from choice of games branded title, and likely not from the low quality/low potency LI's from hosted games.

“Throne of Blood” has strong ideas and a promising premise, but the execution often undermines the core appeal of interactive fiction: inhabiting a character whose identity and choices actually matter. While the game offers a wide range of customization options on paper, the narrative frequently contradicts or ignores them, creating a disconnect between player intent and the protagonist’s behavior. (4/10) One of the earliest issues appears in the introduction. You can choose your gender and sexuality, including playing as a gay woman or a nonbinary character, yet the prose immediately assigns attraction to characters regardless of your settings. Since you cannot choose all-female bodyguards, lines like “your sworn protectors, who honestly have no right to look that good” assume interest in men even when the player may wish to choose otherwise. This could have been avoided entirely by letting the player define their reaction instead of imposing one. This pattern continues throughout the story. I am giving this a 51/100, there is nothing wrong with it, it is just a story, not a game. You do not have skills, or an inventory, your choices are flavor text. This is more of a romantic narrative where you will always succeed and you follow a set path in the story. Your choice of magic does not matter, you are very much in the backseat for your own story. This is more of a "Choice of Hearts" story than a typical Hosted Games or Choice of Games product. If you want an interesting read then pick this up, if you are looking for more depth in player interaction, choice, and impact then this might not be for you.

This is certainly one of the better written 'Choice of Games' out there and worth playing. PROs: * Well written dialog and narration * Pretty cool characters - some downright adorable * Good control over tension through most of the mini-stories * You always keep an idea of 'why' you are doing something * You somewhat feel your character growth (and never feel OP) * Great world-building that you take in at a good pace, never confused but never sitting through endless narration * Well written spicy content that never feels cringe, and reasonable poly (harem-y) dynamics that don't feel force and actually work together (not parallel relationships that just each of their own scenes enabled or now - they actually interact) CONs: * The ending does a good job setting up for the next story... but you face-plant into it if you don't realize this is meant to be 'part 1' not a self-contained game.. and part 2 isn't out (they don't always come out) * There is no clear guide on how to 'save' progress at the end for an eventual part 2 * There is a bit too much un-needed furries in here. Its not overwhelming, can kinda put it out of your mind, but... I'd have been happy with an 'off'…
