Tiger Soldier Ⅰ

Lucky me gets to write the first review for Tiger Soldier Ⅰ... and it's not good news. Tiger Soldier Ⅰ is a 2D top down shooter that's been made using the godawful GameMaker Studio game construction kit, presumably by copying a basic template/tutorial from Yoyogames. Because GameMaker Studio is terrible, the games constructed with it are also invariably terrible, and there's no exception here. The graphics are awful, although you will find it hard not to laugh at the wacky animation for the soldiers moving. It looks like something out of Monty Python's Ministry of Silly Walks. Hilariously bad animation aside, while this is free, and that's commendable, there's an inexplicable $5 worth of practically empty DLC which makes it seem like some weird cash grab or something, which seems to be common from this developer. Whatever they're up to with that, I don't know, but it doesn't excuse the poor quality of this game. I can't recommend it, even if it's free.

Графика, безусловно, выдает год выпуска, однако пиксельный стиль обладает определенным шармом. Геймплей динамичный и требовательный к реакции. Приходится постоянно уклоняться от вражеских пуль и грамотно использовать доступный арсенал. Особенно порадовала сложность. Игра не прощает ошибок и заставляет искать тактические решения в каждой ситуации. Боссы – настоящее испытание, требующее заучивания паттернов атак. Недостатками можно отметить некоторую однообразность уровней и отсутствие внятного сюжета. Впрочем, для аркадного экшена это не критично. В целом, "Tiger Soldier Ⅰ" – хороший выбор для любителей хардкорных ретро-игр, желающих испытать свои навыки. Если вас не отпугивает устаревшая графика, то получите массу удовольствия.
