Tile Tales: Pirate

Pirate themed sliding tile puzzle game. The story begins with a Pirate who is shipwrecked on an unknown island. He begins to explore and discovers that there are many hidden treasures, we know that pirates are very greedy, they would do anything to get their hands on gold and precious items. Help the Pirate to collect all the precious items but be careful because you will meet mischievous monkeys, unsociable inhabitants, scary ghosts, giant creatures, strange voodoo rituals, and mysterious ruins. The game consists of creating the path to get to the point marked with the X by moving the tiles, it is possible to move them even with the pirate on top. Look around carefully because you need to collect objects to use to complete the level. There are 9 different environments, for a total of 90 puzzles. Each level will be rewarded with stars, also there are 81 precious objects to collect if you fail you can redo the level to complete it with 3 stars. I didn’t expect to get this hooked, but Tile Tales: Pirate is such a blast! The puzzles are really well thought out, not just some randomly generated levels, but handcrafted challenges that make you stop and think. It’s not easy, but that’s what makes it so satisfying when you finally solve a tricky one. The pirate theme is awesome, and the humor keeps things light and fun. I also love the variety in the environments - every new area feels fresh, and the little bits of story between levels make you want to keep going just to see what happens next. And the graphics is so charming! My only concern could be the animations that might feel a bit long at times, but there is a fast-forward button in the top right corner that helps to skip the repeating parts. If you enjoy puzzle games that make you use your brain while still having a great time, I highly recommend this one!

I have to admit: Sokoban games are NOT my genre, and the puzzle-solving itself wasn't that fun to me (none of the sokoban games really scratch an itche for me) but the way you have to collect certain treasures in order and how each level had tiny pirate-themed animations, that motivated me to keep going and I'll be playing more of it later! It does lend itself slightly better to mobile play than Desktop, simply because it's such a good title to play 1-2 levels when waiting for something.

Tile Tales: Pirate is a sliding puzzle game where you help a goofy pirate hop around tile-based maps to get to his treasure. It’s simple, colorful, and clearly meant to be a light little time-waster. Pros: ✔️ The Puzzles Are Solid: I’ll give credit where it’s due—the puzzles are decently challenging. You’ve got to plan a few steps ahead and actually think things through, especially to get the bonus in each level. ✔️ Straightforward Gameplay: It’s not trying to be anything overly complicated. You know exactly what you’re doing once you get going. ✔️ Pirate Theme Is Fun: Who doesn't love pirates? Cons: ❌ Definitely Feels Like a Mobile Game: This would honestly make way more sense on a phone. Playing it on PC kind of felt like I had downloaded the wrong version. ❌ Barely Any Explanation: They really don’t explain the mechanics well. You sort of figure it out as you go. ❌ Some Character Designs Are a Bit... Yikes: The “Tiki men” made me pause for sure. Felt outdated and like something we really didn’t need in 2025. I'm an indie RPG developer myself, and I have to say, this game is really great for a puzzle game, which isn't normally my genre. + Lots of animations, some of which are funny. + Relaxed gameplay with the mouse and pretty low poly graphics. + Puzzles that can be solved flexibly; you don't have to take the perfect route, but you get bonus points if you do. + There are even boss enemies with very interesting gameplay.
