Roadwarden

Such a 90's vibe game. Simple, atmospheric, and consequential. The point and click nature of this game coupled with the storytelling style harkens to my experience of playing Quest for Glory 4. The various choices of: dialogue, weapons, pathways, etc.... really matters as future endeavors callback to your decision(s); quite a rare gameplay style for modern day games (hint: $$$). Further, the simplicity of the pixeled graphics and concise use of texts (without overburdening the player with lore) really aids in the enjoyment of the game. Very replayable for the achievement and enjoyment of the different outcomes.

I played through this last 2022, and I regret forgetting to leave this game a positive review. It has been four years since, and I've played loads of other games but I find myself still thinking about Roadwarden a lot. Definitely one of the more special game experiences I've had on par with my love for Disco Elysium and RDR2.

Fantastic athmosphere and gameplay

Simple concept, amazing execution, extremely worth it.

This game is excellent. Great vibe and fun story. It reminds me of old point in click adventures in the way you can solve puzzles and discover new areas. Great fun for a few playthroughs. Not the type of game you play for hundreds of hours, but one you remember like a favorite book.

I really liked this game a lot, the detailed descriptions of the places you visit and people you meet went very well with the art design while still leaving a lot open to your imagination. The role playing felt (mostly) very coherent and you really get the opportunity to be as good or evil (/ selfish) as you want. The time pressure in regular game mode combined with playing blind on my first playthrough really forced me to play very carefully and keep notes of everything that was mentioned and seemed somewhat important, and immediately you can see how this pays off very often. By the end of my 40 days I had a feeling that I'd gotten barely anything done and yet I wasn't mad about it in the slightest, immediately starting a new playthrough. You get a lot of replayability this way! In the end my inner completionist made me do a playthrough without time limit and no longer blind because I wanted to get as many achievements as possible, which made for an extremely rich game where I got the feeling of being on top of the world, also giving me one hell of an awesome epilogue.
