Tokyo Snap

This one has been sitting on my wishlist for some time, then some time more on my library. Today I played it and it's basically just what you see in the trailer and nothing more. Some basic features that would have made the game more enjoying: - More outfits for each character or more characters, it's just the same 6 people every day. - More interesting dialogues with each character. It would have been more interesting if you exchanged some simple dialogue with each character every time you took a picture, and then had the opportunity to have a longer more meaningful conversation. But dialogues where just "hi, I'm a self centered a$$hole, ok, bye!" or "I'm shy. bye."... So, even though it looks quite good, it's too short and there was potential for... a complete game I guess.

It's a really cute little game! The playtime is only about 30 minutes and personally I was able to get 18 out of 30 achievements in a single playtrough. I feel like it would've been cute for the characters to have different outfits depending on the day, there's already only a handful of them and each only have 2 sprites (3 if you count them being grayed out) so some variations would help change the pace because it becomes a bit monotonous shooting the same 5 people that only have 2 expressions each (one being just their idle). The characters have so much charm in them when you talk, I would've liked to see more of their personalities through more of their style, it is a fashion photography game after all. Also i would've LOVED a little book showing all the photos we've taken in full.

Kinda disappointed that all the photos I took ended up being just a purple box, rather than an image.

Tokyo Snap is a decent micro title where you play as a fashion photographer on assignment in Tokyo. The gameplay is pretty bare bones, you walk down a busy segment of street and take photos of the same 6 characters. Overtime, you unlock new features which will help you gain more followers. One negative to the game is that there doesn’t appear to be a pause button. Atleast on Steam Deck it sends you back to the start menu and you have to restart the current day once you return. Overall, Tokyo Snap is a fairly enjoyable 35-45 minutes and at $3 it’s cheaper than a cup of coffee.
