About Far Cry® 2
You're a mercenary navigating a massive African war zone where your choices, reputation, and tactics determine your survival and success. Dynamic fire physics, destructible environments, intelligent enemy AI, and non-linear gameplay create a sandbox where stealth, cunning, and brute force are all viable paths to completing your mission.
You must identify and exploit your enemies' weaknesses, neutralizing their superior numbers and firepower with surprise, subversion, cunning and of course brute force.
- Fire — Feel the heat of the most realistic fire ever seen in a video game! Use wind and propagation to surround and trap your enemies. Grab your Molotov cocktails or flamethrowers to take out your enemies.
- Destructible environment — No more obstacles: Everything is breakable and alterable, even in Multiplayer mode. The DUNIA engine's RealTree technology also delivers the most realistic nature deterioration system ever.
- Open world — Experience real freedom while roaming in more than 50km2 without any loading. Choose your own path in this vast environment and explore a living African world.
- A huge adventure — Fight for two rival factions, and make your way up to your primary target by any means necessary. Take on over 70 side missions to earn valuable information, new weapons and vehicles.
- Non-scripted artificial intelligence — Medics will drag wounded soldiers to safety. Grunts will come to fear you. Your reputation and in-game actions will make enemies drop their guns and run for their lives. Feel the tension of never knowing just how an enemy will react.
- MULTIPLAYER — Challenge your friends but watch your back—you never know who your true friends are and who might betray you! All the single player technical features are also present in multiplayer mode.
What Steam players say
Recent verbatim reviews from Steam — separate from playze.io community reviews below.
Players appreciate the game's immersion, graphics, and hardcore atmosphere, but most find the core gameplay loop repetitive and tedious with constant vehicle repairs and enemy encounters breaking up travel. Technical issues like cutscene bugs and the lack of autosave are common frustrations, though some players value the immersion over the more action-focused gameplay of its sequels.
Shoots my gun one time. Immediately jams. You already know... We're jammin' I wanna jam it with you We're jammin', jammin' And I hope you like jammin' too.

4/10 This game would be fun if not for the crashing and bugs its got, the story is alright and the gameplay is good but the issue with this game is that that while it can run it cant run for long without something breaking like the stableness of it, I'm fine with the realistic gun jamming and all that other stuff the game throws at me, I however, am not fine with the game corrupting my save files randomly or when I go to save it crashes, that's what I don't like to deal with at all its not fun playing and dealing with that, I can play the game for 20-40 mins and it will randomly crash sometimes it crashes at the same areas or spots at random, maybe some broken script or bugged code because it ends up being a 50/50 if the area or event just crashes the game randomly, if the game did not crash as often and if it did not corrupt my saves so i could finish the game, I'd give it a higher rating but sadly its just not stable enough to play or for me to recommend.
Clunky ass game, buy if you enjoy crashing being the main difficulty mechanic. Fantastic tweak of difficulty when you lose all your progress
>drive >unavoidable car chase >get out to kill the pursuer's and repair your car (since you can't shoot out vehicles but you can heal but not steer the vehicle or accelerate while healing) >malaria missions >game randomly crashes while quick saving or doing anything, MULTIPLE times >repeat That's it, that's the whole game, bs story, bs gameplay. Also ♥♥♥♥ to whoever came up with the boat mission in act 2, and almost the whole entirety of act 2, with the crossmapping mortars and rpgs.
