About Far Cry® 2
You're a mercenary navigating a massive African war zone where your choices, reputation, and tactics determine your survival and success. Dynamic fire physics, destructible environments, intelligent enemy AI, and non-linear gameplay create a sandbox where stealth, cunning, and brute force are all viable paths to completing your mission.
You must identify and exploit your enemies' weaknesses, neutralizing their superior numbers and firepower with surprise, subversion, cunning and of course brute force.
- Fire — Feel the heat of the most realistic fire ever seen in a video game! Use wind and propagation to surround and trap your enemies. Grab your Molotov cocktails or flamethrowers to take out your enemies.
- Destructible environment — No more obstacles: Everything is breakable and alterable, even in Multiplayer mode. The DUNIA engine's RealTree technology also delivers the most realistic nature deterioration system ever.
- Open world — Experience real freedom while roaming in more than 50km2 without any loading. Choose your own path in this vast environment and explore a living African world.
- A huge adventure — Fight for two rival factions, and make your way up to your primary target by any means necessary. Take on over 70 side missions to earn valuable information, new weapons and vehicles.
- Non-scripted artificial intelligence — Medics will drag wounded soldiers to safety. Grunts will come to fear you. Your reputation and in-game actions will make enemies drop their guns and run for their lives. Feel the tension of never knowing just how an enemy will react.
- MULTIPLAYER — Challenge your friends but watch your back—you never know who your true friends are and who might betray you! All the single player technical features are also present in multiplayer mode.
What Steam players say
Recent verbatim reviews from Steam — separate from playze.io community reviews below.
Players appreciate the game's immersion, graphics, and hardcore atmosphere, but most find the core gameplay loop repetitive and tedious with constant vehicle repairs and enemy encounters breaking up travel. Technical issues like cutscene bugs and the lack of autosave are common frustrations, though some players value the immersion over the more action-focused gameplay of its sequels.
Fighting malaria is a pain in the ass. But the gameplay and graphics still holds up to this day and I feel like a lone wolf and deeply immersed in this game.1 found this helpful
When i start a game, i finish the game. Except for this piece of trash. the most tedious, boring, annoying game i think i have ever played. i can understand why somebody could enjoy it (its kind of immersive, and is very hardcore) but like, it isn't fun having to drive for 10 minutes but every 2 minutes you HAVE to exit your vehicle, kill like 2 dudes, then repair your car, and drive for another two minutes. This "game's" gameplay loop is quite literally, drive, kill like 3 dudes, repair car, drive, kill like 3 dudes, repair car, drive, kill like 4 dudes this time, repair car, oh wow you've made it to the map marker where you now get to kill 10 dudes and destroy a random object. Now do that about 20 times, and that is LITERALLY 90% of the game. I have 13 hours, and I swear to my mother that I spent 80-90% of my gametime just driving around and repairing my car. You want to switch out your guns? Drive over to the weapon store (and get into like, 3-4 actually pointless gunfights on the way). Same thing with wanting to do convoy missions. Same thing with assassination missions (which are just normal missions but you kill a basic guy in a suit). Enemies are bullet sponges, the guns kin…1 found this helpful
The game is fun but it's full of bugs on cut scenes like the characters shake their head and glass cups explode
Unrealistic game, malaria goes away after about 72 hours with treatment. Source: my friend got it
its a All right game but when you add far cry 2 modernized mod its really good all though not much added it fixes things like FOV now 75 or 80 i don't remember. far cry 3 is a small change to the formula with more action, but the immersion of far cry 2 is too good to give up for Far cry 3. I love Vaas but Africa is just cooler
cool. just one thing this game have no auto save so be careful👍
