In Tori, players fly as a bird through a mystical land interacting with the spirits of sound to bring life to the floating islands of Otokai.
As players soar through the islands of Otokai they are greeted by countless icons and themes stemming from Japanese culture. Through interacting with Kami, the musical spirits of the objects that cover the land, players bring about events and storylines based on tales of Shintoism. Tori aims to artistically portray these tales and to build players’ interest in seeking a deeper understanding of Japanese culture and values.

Игра 'Tori' - это приятный и расслабляющий пазл, идеально подходящий для коротких сессий. Визуальный стиль, выполненный в минималистичной, но очаровательной манере, создает умиротворяющую атмосферу. Механика вращения и соединения разноцветных фигур, хотя и простая на первый взгляд, затягивает своей медитативностью. Особенно понравилось, как игра постепенно усложняется, предлагая новые типы фигур и более сложные задачи, при этом не становясь чрезмерно сложной. Музыкальное сопровождение ненавязчивое и идеально вписывается в общий тон игры, добавляя еще больше расслабления. Единственным минусом можно назвать отсутствие разнообразия в игровых режимах. Хотелось бы увидеть больше вызовов и возможностей для повторного прохождения. В целом, 'Tori' - это отличная игра для тех, кто ищет способ расслабиться и потренировать свой ум в приятной и неторопливой обстановке. Рекомендую всем любителям пазлов и тем, кто хочет отвлечься от суеты дня.
"Tori" is less of a game and more of a "walking" sim art experience. What do you do in the game? not much. Just fly around and let the "art experience" unravel around you. The "game" (if it can be called that) is a simple low poly tech demo, a short exposition on some aspects of Japanese religion, which in this case involves some temples and Tori gates (you know those red arch things). That's all there is to it. In terms of visuals, this features fairly low quality low poly 3D graphics which will deter a lot of gamers, understandably. Gaming is a visual medium, and while some developers struggle with creating high quality visuals, failing to do so is a disservice to gamers. It's very difficult to recommend bad looking games. This game is fairly dated at 7 years old... it's showing a bit of age and won't give you a very up-to-date gaming experience. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. There's no initial download price, but the developer was charging $5 USD for this. Price barriers, especially on low quality products, can be a direct cause of failure.
