Unravel the fate of the ocean as you glide across an ever changing seascape in the hopes of reuniting Toroa with their family on land.
Following the winds of the Atua (Māori God) of the weather, Tāwhirimātea, Toroa will befriend creatures of the sea, meet distant relatives while flying through dream-like clouds and lush oceanic environments grounded in the Māori world.

- Toroa have the largest wingspan in the world! Glide on wind currents and explore stylised landscapes, from calm seas to verdant islands and into dream-like cloudscapes.
- Creatures of the sea need your help. Chat with and befriend a colourful cast from the South Pacific including dolphins, whales, penguins and more!
- Trade kelp with creatures and gather birds into a flock who will follow you all the way to the end of your journey.
- With the help of a knowledgeable seagull, identify a smorgasbord of tasty looking trash strewn about the ocean (NOT FOR CONSUMPTION)
- Experience a heartfelt story grounded in te ao Māori (the Māori world) centered on our precious ocean, family, past, present and future.
- Listen to a lush soundtrack showcasing the beauty of taonga pūoro (Māori musical instruments) and experience the beauty of the Māori language in character dialogue and story.

I enjoyed my time with Toroa: Skycall. It's absolutely at its best when you're in full flight, skimming the surface of the water, boosting through vortexes and careening amongst the trees on the coast of Aotearoa. The flow state of flight and the joy of movement. If anything I wish there were more of it, sometimes when the game slows down for a moment it can feel antithetical to the feeling of being Toroa... but that contrast can also make those moments of joy as you soar through the sky extra special as well.4 found this helpful
An incredibly beautiful game about a charming journey home. The music is phenomenal, the econarrative is subtle but powerful, the presentation is fantastic, and the flight mechanics were super fun even when using mouse and keyboard. A nice, short, chill game where you play as an albatross trying to find their way back to their family, encountering a bunch of goofball birds and aquatic creatures along the way. Not earth shattering, but a relaxing way to spend an hour or two!
I like the concept of the game. The premise and characters are simple but charming. I was even quite relaxed at some point, just gliding through the wind. However... The movement feels totally unrefined for a game centered on flying from place to place. If you've played any arcade/realistic flight game you'd probably feel the same way. Changing direction with any amount of precision is impossible and the low altitude caps in certain levels just ruin my enjoyment of freedom of flight. Hitting a wall causes the camera to weirdly phase through it. Flying near trees does the same thing. It's impossible to land in some accessible land areas such as tall mountains where there are no pre-defined objectives. There just isn't anything to really explore outside of the extremely linear story path. In its current state, I can't justify spending any amount of $ for this on its own, but if it's thrown in with some game bundle (like Humble), might as well give it a try.
